• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I've had several batteries die from cars sitting for extended times but never after putting a few thousand on the Telluride in a week. It's charging presently and then going to take it to get a load test and check the alternator. Weird.

If it's not parasitic drain, then I would imagine a battery diagnostic test would help you get the answer. Kia dealers have some Kia Smart Battery Tester that is supposed to do some deeper diagnostic in less than a minute. I hope it's not your alternator, maybe just a loose connection. Good luck!

Charged it all last night, stopped in at auto zone and they tested it, passed everything. We shall see.

Did the battery die overnight??

This actually happened after I drove it in the morning and then went to use it again. I am not absolutely ruling out human error in that I possible had the ignition on since it charged up and has been fine since. The battery tested fine, but it was so dead that nothing came on and when I put the charger on it, it was taking everything it could give.

Have you had anymore problems?

Doesn't the Autostop use battery to start the engine every time? Seems like it could cause a lot of battery drain if you are driving in stop and go areas for 10hrs.

Modern AGM batteries and the starters are supposed to be designed with this new mandatory auto start feature in mind.

I just bought a Jeep Wrangler and it has 2 batteries, a smaller one to run the autostop I was told.
