Map Update v16.0 Arriving May 5th

I installed the purple update this week and am wondering how or if we can customize the “home” screen? Or is home just the full list of widgets now? in the last version, I was able to customize and used the star ️ button to customize the display for 3-way split of Audio / Map / Weather. Can’t find that option anymore. Now, either the main screen is black with the time display in purple or the page of all widgets.
don’t care about the color, just want to display what I use the most

Did the update last night and played around with it trying to recreate the 3 split screen with no luck. Have you found anything comparable to that? I had my star button set to go back to the 3 screen too.

The 3 screen option was eliminated at least 2 updates ago. There is no way to revert to the old version

Yeah I get that. Was trying to see if there was anything close to it. Even if it’s just the map and radio on the same screen I’d be happy with that. Haven’t had time to go through it yet.

That's possible. Hit the map or radio button and the right 1/3 is changeable.

You do realize that virtually everything about the system, other than the main home screen, is essentially the same as it has always been? You can run any system “app” in full screen or split in something else. Maps with radio. Radio with maps. Open the primary thing you want, then split screen in your companion. Swipe between the several split screen options if you want variety.

I literally got done the update, tried to get the 3 screen thing to work (obviously it didn’t) and turned the car off. It took over 2hrs to update with the car running and it was 11pm at this point. Does the set up screen and everything look the same? Yeah.. But as far as splitting screens and getting thing to where I want them, I haven’t gotten that far. I just noticed that it was different, my radio presets are gone and I have some tinkering to do.

We were having issues with voice command on our 2021 Telluride and they told me I should update the software. I didn’t realize it was going to update EVERYTHING. I’ve had similar issues/complaints listed here but the one issue I haven’t figured out is alerts while backing. The backup camera comes on but never beeps when you get close to something. (Another car, garage door, etc.) It does still beep for lane change without using signal or if there’s a car beside you when you do use the signal. So far, the no back up alert is the only thing we’ve found not working. Anyone hate any ideas? Thank you.

For our 2020 Telluride which never had an update, this update was great. Everything works perfectly and much better than the original interface. Android auto with wide screen. Factory nav. radio. it all works great. thank you!

Going from the original version, did you run the car the whole time? Or were you able to do it in accessory mode?

Just an update, our voice recognition stinks with this update. By stinks, it's virtually unusable. I want to say it was bad for the previous SW as well. When new in 2021, the system worked very well.

It always trys to figure out what you are staying, then punts to a screen with the options.

Question:
We expired on the KIA app and do not plan to use it. Does that make a difference???

Can I re-install this update? The voice thing not working is a pain, and the only gripe we have with the car.

I had to update from the original (2021) software earlier this year to the radio tube edition. I didn't really like it overall, but one feature I like is how it tells you how far the next rest stop is along your route. Does anyone know if the new update still does this?

I purchased my KIA Telluride last month. It came with version which was of 23rd June 2021.
I downloaded the latest version files from official KIA website, put it on the pen drive and updated the firmware.

Now the version is shows is 10th May 2022.
However when I am using the FM radio - I can still see the Tubes!

So I wanted to check with you guys - is this normal ....or upgrade has not happened for me ?
(I have attached few photos along with this post for more clarity)

Well, it looks like you’re not in North America. Updates, versions, and cycles vary by market. So it may be correct for your area.

Just took delivery of my second Telluride. First was in October 2019 (MY2020 SX model, in Canada), and new one is 2022 SX (Canada).

I won't moan about the loss of the three-screen layout, which I enjoyed. It was much better than what Kia provides now, and the purple colours are terrible. There are definitely some improvements in the new system over what my 2020 model had: Nav system is somewhat improved, and there is a lot more available customization of settings.

I am not seeing some "critical" and really nice to have functions though:
1. Phone Favorites. I only see 4 tabs on the phone screen: Recent Calls, Contacts, Dial pad (which you used to be able to use while driving), and Mail/Text. How can they not provide Favorites???

2. Camera Setup: You used to be able to set the camera view defaults for both Drive and Reverse gears. I had mine set to show the front wheel view in Drive (as we have a narrow driveway when two cars are parked). Having to select the other view in the camera screen every time I drive in is not as convenient as when I could set a default view).

3. Voice Recognition: The system use to work REALLY well. Now, the voice recognition is basically useless.

Do others notice these issues?

3. Voice recognition - Useless....... Since the latest update my voice recognition is completely useless. Regardless of how loud or quiet the car is off or on all she replies back with is "Sorry, I didn't understand you" (or whatever she says LOL.

Is anyone else having the same issue?
Will a re-install fix this?

Just say your post and sorry you're having issues.
I just tried mine to double check and all works well with voice recognition. I guess a re-install wouldn't hurt.

Right after the update it worked very well that I was surprised about the complaints, but now it doesn’t respond at all.

For me the voice recognition seems to work, but the search function is terrible compared to maps on hte phone. It's incapable of searching for a destination by name. It always defaults to a point of interst or something like that.

Another complaint is you can only enter a destination while stopped. Combined with the lack of voice recognition similar to apps on the phone, it's nearly worthless.

Looks good and works if you only want to enter a destination manually while stopped.
