  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... SX X-line timeline

My car (gravity gray SX-P X-Line with terracotta) finally showed up in Failcat. I found it there first, called dealer thinking it was a long shot, and they confirmed it was my car. I ordered early November 2022, found in Failcat on Feb 1st, and ETA is March 3rd. Looking forward to its arrival. Upgrading from a Cadillac Escalade that has had problem after problem after problem.
Interesting and surprising that you found it on Failcat before being notified by the dealership. I know you are thrilled!!! I hope you will love your Telluride as much as I have loved my 2020! So exciting and please post pics!

There are many variables to determine your wait time.

1. Market Adjustment - Did you pay "market adjustment" for your order? If you did, that will definitely shorten your wait time since less people nowadays are willing to pay a markup for their telluride. If you just paid MSRP, I think you still have to wait at least 6 months because there would be more people in front of you on the waiting queue.

2. If you ordered from a relatively big dealer, they will get larger allotments/allocations from Kia, and thus shorten your wait time. You can check on Failcat to see how many Tellurides your dealer received each month.

I ordered @MSRP from a small dealer last April, then updated to MY23 in late September. Kia finally picked up my order last month. It has been 3 weeks since then and I am still awaiting the VIN# and the window sticker from my dealer. Failcat has shown nothing matching my order thus far. My dealer said this morning it will be very soon, probably sometime early next week.

I am paying MSRP. I was told 6-9 months when I ordered but I had a feeling they were sandbagging. I chose a very small dealer an hour away from me, because while the larger, closer dealers may get more allocations, they also have a ton more customers, which I felt would outweigh the larger allocations. From the date I placed the order to the current ETA, it will be almost exactly 4 months. Understand the ETA May change, but hopefully not by much.

Guess what?! When I first placed my order, I was told 3 to 6 months. I knew they were BS, but they were the only dealer within 500 miles radius around me selling at MSRP. I did a lot of research and was ready to wait 9 to 12 months. I ordered with them anyway.

As I mentioned earlier, you can check the average allocations your dealer has been getting each month, and ask your dealer how many are in front of you in the queue. Say your dealer only get 10 Tellys each month, and there are 50 customers waiting in front of you. The reasonable wait time is at least 5 months. One good thing is we all know Kia is boosting their production by 20% this year. Hope you'll get yours sooner.

Thanks for all the replies!!! I agreed to pay $3,000 over MSRP 10/27/2022 and Kia hasn’t even picked up my order yet. 😔

There seems to be quite a bit more inventory lately. Are you guys ordering something extra special? There's 7 SX X-Lines within 50 miles of me. I bought my mine from the dealer in my town. They had an $8K addendum on it which I wouldn't pay. Went back 2 or so weeks later and paid sticker

Order frequency has likely cooled a bit with more competitor 2023 models closing the gap with the Telluride. I think Kia also upped their production output as well so that means more allocated units to dealers. Custom orders will still take alot longer to get but should keep getting better and better over time.

I ordered the same trim last March (2022) and still have not received a VIN so yes I'm at 11 months with no info from dealer. That's at MSRP from Van Griffith Kia in Texas. Hope yours is sooner than mine :-(

Had you ordered a different trim model last March? I didn’t think the X-lines were available to order then.

I ordered a 22 in march 22 and then in october they switched me to the 23.
I bet those of you waiting since the 2022 orders will be filled first. Hopefully you’re close! 11 months is ridiculous!!! Good luck!!!! Thank you for your reply!!

You should double check again with you dealer. Kia has now picked up orders from April 2022. What is your trim and options? Unless your custom order is way special, it should have been picked up by now.

Gravity gray/Terracotta? How do you like it? Send pics if possible.
I have Gravity Gray with Black interior, I absolutely love the color combo...My original order was for a 2022 Everlasting Silver SX-P, I changed it when my order got switched to a 2023. I went back & forth a million times between Gravity Gray and Everlasting Silver, but I thought Gravirty Gray looked better in the X-Line trim.... My last suv had gray leather interior and with young kids it didn't look good after a few years, that's why I went with Black leather interior... love it!

The silverish bumpers don't bother me like I though they would, if I ever decide to change them i'll have them painted the same color as the X-Line window trim....
