Order to delivery time

It’s not Kia that’s the issue and more of a supply/demand issue. We’re all going through it together. Can’t you feel the love?
Apparently the delay is caused by a change in the supply chain for the interior. I’m going to have point the finger at Kia corporate for the delay and the dealership for the substandard communication.

Dealers can't communicate what they don't know.

Your absolutely correct, however, they are fully capable of passing along the information when they are made aware and not waiting until zero hour. It’s all about managing expectations. I would also recommend returning customers communications versus having them drive into the dealership for a straight answer.

Glad to know from people's feedback. Need to develop the processing method.

Here is our Kia ‘experience’:
Apr 26. Ordered SX. Told to expect a 6 week timeframe to receive it.
Jun 18. Told order fulfilled.
Jul 1. ‘In transit’. ETA Jul 12.
Jul 2. SX expected to be in Elwood IL distribution center around Jul 12. (Elwood is around 2 ½ hours from our house.)
Jul 15. Received VIN and window sticker via email. ‘Should be in any day.’
Jul 19. Kudos to the dealer. Dealer provided a free loaner until the SX arrives.
Jul 21. Still waiting.

I could not agree more. It is just so basic to return phone calls and would make the wait much more bearable. With them not returning calls you start to wonder why and begin to think you are being played with.

Hey everyone,
We ordered our SX prestige, Gravity grey on 4/20. I was told the order was accepted June 1st. Then I was told it was to be delivered today 7/21/19. When contacting the dealer, there was not a straight answer. I was just told it maybe another 10 days or 1st week of August. I don't have a VIN but will ask tomorrow if they have one for me. The other thing that makes me a bit suspicious is that I saw the same vehicle we ordered, pop up on another dealer's website that is about 5 miles away. Our hopes were to have the vehicle in time for our vacation on August 10th. I am starting to think we might need to jump ship and go with another vehicle. This process has been a nightmare.

I ordered a moss green sx prestige with Dune interior and tow package on March 3rd. According to the dealer the order has not been accepted yet. Does anyone know if this is a production issue or a dealer issue?
I ordered the
Hi, You can add me to the list of frustrated Telluride fans waiting on the car they ordered. I placed my order for an SX, AWD with no tow in Moss Green with the prestige package in Dune on April 5. I have been erroneously told at the beginning of May it was "due in soon" and that it was "port allocated" at the end of June. Went to my dealer today and they could not tell me a thing. No VIN, no port allocation, just that it was "in process". I am very tired of hearing about Nappa leather. I guess the Nappa is now an endangered specie.

Has anyone been able to find a way to learn more about your order besides depending on the dealer? Contact Kia direct somehow?
I ordered the exact same thing Moss/ Dune, plus the towing package, and the mood lighting on April 23, but as I read above, the dealer knows absolutely nothing except for that the order was placed

Well I am officially fed up.

I ordered an SXP, dark moss with dune interior on April 22nd. After 3 months of waiting I got my VIN yesterday. When I generated the window sticker I noticed it said black interior. Dune usually does but usually under the additional equipment section it will say something about SX dune brown leather seats. Mine does not. So without actually seeing the vehicle, it seems as though Kia fulfilled my order with the wrong interior.

Waiting to hear back from Kia via my dealer to see what’s going on.

About a month ago, I passed on a non-prestige because I was holding out on my original order so I could get the dune interior. In that case Kia also screwed up because the dealer (different dealer) had the vehicle but couldn’t sell it because they didn’t have the manufacturer statement of origin from Kia yet. Kia mailed it out snail mail and the dealer didn’t get it until over a week after the truck was dropped off at the dealer. But I digress..

What would you do in my shoes? Settle on the black interior prestige or possibly wait a few more months (hope it doesn’t come to that) for the dune?

I ordered an SXP, white with dune on April 16th. Still haven't received a VIN. My dealer was told they were receiving a white SXP on July 5th, so he assumed it was mine. It wasn't. It was white with a black interior. He offered it to me (while I was away on vacation). By the time I went in, it was sold, but I don't think I would have accepted it either way. The wife really doesn't like black interiors and the dune brown looks really sharp. I'm just fed up with the wait. It's a great looking (and by reviews, so far) car, but there are a lot of great looking cars out there for around $50k. But we're lucky that we can wait, so it continues..

Yep, I'm done waiting. Getting a Palisade Limited AWD this week. They have to do a dealer swap so should be here later this week.

Let the car come in and see if your dune is in it. You may be surprised. I waited 96 days and love the car. Well worth the wait good luck

The Black interior is a GLITCH in the system. If you look at the thread in this forum where MichelW pulls all the VINS - interior Black is substituted for at least 3 colors - look at the detail on the sticker to see your color.

Yep I did. I’m talking the additional equipment section like I’ve seen on others. Not there on mine.

Well I would wait on it. - sounds like it is but a couple of weeks away.

When you pull your sticker - does it say Black - and does it list the Dune Nappa in the extra add-on section ?

It says black for the interior. In the additional equipment section it lists nappa leather with the prestige but not specifically dune.

I saw somewhere that the dealer can select an option on the order to fulfill imperfect matches. Can anyone else confirm? I would make sure your order was entered for an exact match only.

Right - I wanted @Wap52 since he had the same car to tell us if it was listed on his. I don't blame you - I would drop it if it came in black and you wanted dune - but given the challenges they have had with this particular item I would tend to wait and see.
