Telluride sx lift and larger tires

Thank you GreenBug. Did you get the shock extension piece from Truxx also? I have the tow package with the load level shocks too. Is there a consultant or sales person at Truxx that can help specify?
I did, its part of the mod.

Here is the model number for the 2inch lift with the load leveler shocks 306016.

I got it right before Christmas so I got a sweet deal, they are shipped from WA. The number to call is on their website and you can talk to someone probably even right now.

I got the impression they are not a big outfit.

I tried to post a link to the mod but the forum wont let me but here is the picture.

Thank you. I've seen that most of us have installed these shock shaft extensions when they get the lift. When I mentioned this to the performance garage I've had recommended to me, they don't seem to understand why those are needed. If these extenders are not installed, what is the risk?

Thank you for the update! Going with Nitto Recon grapplers 265/50/20 this week.
Can you provide photos of your 265/50r20 with no lift? Thanks!
Here’s how the Nitto Recon Grapplers turned out. 265/50r/20 with no lift. I personally love it. Took to the mountains and didn’t really change much in terms of comfortability- maybe a touch noisier.

Looking for help and advice. Im finally ready to get my tires. I have the nightfall pkg so the 20" wheels, I also have the tow package and bought the 2" truxx (I got the kit that I believe has the 2.5 in rear and 2" in front if im not mistaken - it was whatever set the guy stated works best with the self leveling) Any who, Looking for advise on a tire that will perform well in the rain (I cant stand not feeling secure in rain) but i want the rugged look. Ive originally picked the Nitto Ridge Grappler 265/50/r20 however, a lot of picture I look at there seems to be a large gap in wheel well, making it seem like I would want a larger aspect ratio. does the 265/60/r20 fit with the 2" lift? any better looking/performing tires other than the nitto ridge grappler that ya'll have liked and can share pic of? can yall share your pics of whatever yall got the fit the 2" lift and don't rub?
it would be so much easier for a mind like mine if they could show me what they would look like on when i select a tire. lol

Was there any rubbing? I've picked up a set of 20s for winter wheels for my wife's 23 SX-P and there's a set of Blizzak 265/50R20s for sale near me. I'm wanting to pull the trigger on them but hers has the 245/50R20s on them

Hello all:

I had my 2020 SX-P raised with the Truxx 2" front and 2.5 rear lift and added the Falken AT Trail tires (265/50r20) installed. I've had this rolling for about a week now and I've had no issues - mostly driving around town but no rubbing, no loud highway noise with the Falkens. I driveway after.webpdriveway before.webpside after.webpside before.webpIove the way it's worked out! The lift is perfect for what I wanted, about 2" from the lift and a little under 1" more due to the larger tires. The Falkens look agressive enough for me and fill the well just fine. I'm adding my pictures so you guys can see the results. I want to feel more comfortable on fire roads and BLM land and I think these will do the trick. Thanks to all on the forum who provided great advice!

only rubbing is full turn in reverse but it’s extremely light so doesn’t matter to me.

How much sticks out the side of wheel well area? Like if looking directly from front to back? Can you post a pic
They pretty much aligned with the top of the wheel well. Here’s some photos.

Guuyyyyys.. I just got back from dealership for oil change and theyre saying the lift kit has caused front axle issues! 3k to fix. Basically the lift kit has strained the drive shafts and lubricant is spraying all over under car. This sucks majorly. So not only do I have to fix the problem, I'll probably have to remove the lift kit unless I can find aftermarket parts to match the difference from the lift. Now that the lift kits have been out a few years, I'm curious to know if anyone else is having this problem.
I had this issue. My front right axle broke when towing a camping trailer. They said it was the lift. I removed the Truxx kit. About 18 months later, the front right axle did it again while towing a small uhaul trailer. My wife no longer trusts the Telly for Amy towing. The two truck guy told me he has picked up many Kia's due to axle problems. I don't think it is all due to the lift.

Not that I’ve experienced
Do you have a lift installed in yours? Or the 265s rub barely with no lift?

Hey- I don’t have a lift and the only significant rub (noticeable) I’ve experience is in reverse, at full turn, while going over a bump

How much weight were you towing? I guess the 2nd time must have been minimal (U-haul?)

And which year is yours?

So I did the 2" Truxxx lift this past weekend, leveling bags, and new tires. Details and costs for anyone else considering:
  • Truxxx 2" lift kit 306015: $302
  • Air Lift Co 60860 (Amazon): $85
  • 265/65 r18" Mazama Open Range tires: used, bought locally $180 (on the stock wheels)
  • Tire install, balance, alignment: $265
  • $832 all-in
I installed myself borrowing a friend's garage with a lift. Took me about 3h. I've never done anything like this before, but it went pretty well. I was surprised that the rear was harder than the front (really hard to get the control arms to re-align after putting in the spacers and compressing the springs again).

So bigger tires than most in this thread. There is some rubbing on the back of the front wheel well. I am planning to remove the plastic and grind down the pinch weld (as some have mentioned). Anyone have any pics or tips for doing that?

Eibach just came out with their 2" lift springs. They're a little more expensive than the Truxxx spacers, and the lift springs will work with Telluride models that have the load-levelling Nivomat systems.

I've had the protoypes on since November of last year and haven't had any issues. Mine is an LX without the load-levelling system, btw.

Here are the part numbers:

PRO-Kit (lowering), $355.00: E10-46-042-01-22

PRO-Kit (lift), $399.00: E30-46-042-01-22

If you don't see the lift kit listed yet on the website, you can call them to order it.
