• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2023 Kia Telluride Discussion

No issues with a 23 after 5,000 miles.
as a new 23 owner that's reassuring to hear, it's a bit worrisome to read the horror stories some are experiancing, but you have to understand that the small numbe rof people with issues will be the ones to be the loudest and there's a far greater number of happy owners who have no need to post on a forum...

Coming from a 10 year old Toyota SUV, the amount of technology crammed into this Telluride is astonishing and you just hope everything works as it should...so far i'm a bit overwhelmed with all of the features to learn, but it's also exciting at the same time...

Agree. You are going to have issues with any manufacturers vehicles. There will be lemons that will always pop up. From these forums and Facebook - overwhelmingly most everyone is very happy with their purchase and experience. Just fingers crossed we don't get unlucky!!! My wife just got a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee (we've had 6 previous between the two of us) and I can't believe how many bugs there are in this vehicle. Quite frankly, Jeep should be embarrassed by releasing such a buggy vehicle. Seat position keeps shifting, occasionally the steering wheel position shifts, sometimes the automatic emergency brake sticks, the passenger seat belt keeps sticking when trying to buckle. Oh, don't get me started on the infotainment system. Don't think that went through QA at all. Pretty pathetic. Of all the issues I'm seeing with the Telly, I don't see anything that rampant going on.

I don't think so, but even if you do there won't be much room to operate if installing grill mesh. Overall the front bumper assembly is pretty easy to remove and I would recommend doing so for said mod...lots of other stuff going on back there not visible from outside. This is my result with four separate mesh pieces:

Are these they ones purchased from Steve?

No. I purchased my own components for this install...maybe $30 total plus labor (free). It was about a two beer job.

My dealer keeps telling me he has no way to track my car until it shows up on his lot. Based on when my order was picked up, and my car specs, I'm pretty sure I saw it show up on failcat early this month, but they still keep telling me they won't know anything until it is delivered. Has anyone else had this experience?
Our dealer says the same thing. We have to book a flight to CO to pick it up and asked for a date. He said until it's on their lot, they can't give one. So frustrating. I have planned days off work for the road trip back, and could end up having to switch them which is NOT easy.

Every dealer is different. If your dealer is telling you they can't provide any info other than when it shows on their lot - that simply isn't true. Now the question is - who is saying that at the dealer? Is it the salesperson? If so, it's very likely that the salesperson doesn't have access. Most likely the sales manager has access so you'll want to speak to that manager. If the sales manager says they can't get that information, then you should ask to speak to the general manager or owner. With that said, dealers generally don't like to give out that information because it's subject to change and they don't want to be liable to you booking a flight based on an ETA given by the Kia plant. The dealer certainly can't control that. Also when Kia tenders their cars to a shipper - it depends on the shipper and when they coordinate the movement to your dealer.

If you can't get any more info from your dealer - go to the Track my vehicle thread and ask @StephenCantrelle to provide your ETA for your Telluride and throw him a little tip - more info in his signature. He can provide the current status as well as the ETA. That can probably help you out a lot!

What dealer in Colorado are you dealing with?

Thank you!

Peak Kia North = the salesman has been nice but of course I wish we had more information to help us plan. Makes sense that maybe the manger only has that information. We are trying not to be too pushy. Just very excited to finally get the car after almost a year long wait.

I just got my 2023 X-Pro SX-Prestige over the weekend and can confirm that there is both a front and rear tow hook available. Unfortunately, the manual also says this "Do not use the towing hooks to pull a vehicle out of mud, sand or other conditions from which the vehicle cannot be driven out under it's own power" so I'm not sure we can necessarily call it a "recovery point" but certainly better than hooking into something else.

I have not been able to find any weight specification of the tow hook.

3800 miles on my 23 and it's got a check engine light. My reader shows 2 cylinder misfires. But the car is running just fine. 3 weeks until the dealership can look at it. Otherwise it's been working great!

The new bumper on the 2023 models look awful. Huge downgrade compared to previous models.. It looks very cheap in my opinion. They should have left it the same as previous models.

I just talked to the dealer today and we wanted a rear entertainment system, but the dealer said that it was really crappy. Has anyone experienced this problem?
Hello, I'm just wondering where you are on this now. I'm considering buying one with the RES that I don't want (my dogs don't care about watching screens... ;-) ). I've seen a video on how to install the RES. I could do the reverse to remove it. Would you be interested in buying a new, but previous installed, RES?

The issue with buying a secondhand RES is, the RES is terrible. The only buyer for it will be someone who isn’t aware of how bad it is. But there may be someone out there who hasn’t heard yet and who is price insensitive.

hey guys sorry if this has been posted already but I just saw the Motormouth review for telluride and while they had mostly good things to say bout the 23 model, they did mention that the seats feel a little firm. I am wondering for anyone who has had real life experience with 23 model has experienced the same or not?
I know this is an older thread reply. But I am on my 2nd Telly and even my bf said the seats didn’t feel as comfortable as my first. I now have the terra cotta nappa on the sxp xline. (Previous was xsp with nappa grey)

The Nappa leather seats are a bit stiff. They are ventilated with heating and cooling. I like the cooling on a long drive. After driving a few hours my back side feels a little warm and sticky and the cooling along with the lumbar massage does help. Are the seats as comfortable as some other high end vehicles, probably not, but the overall comfort on long trips is pretty decent.

It could be the seats are the same, possibly you were more comfortable because they were softer from use. Agree they are pretty stiff seats.

8,000+ miles on my 23 sofar, everything is working great (knock on wood) I FINALLY get my facotry hitch installed in a few days, that's been a long & painful wait for somebody who regularly tows...
