  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Is there a number to call to speak to a regional manager or someone that could check to see what the issue is with my order? A little background. I ordered a SX Prestige 2022 (Wolf Grey) back on March 15, 2022 through Van Griffith Kia in Texas. In mid-October I got switched to a 2023 SX Prestige X Line in Jungle Green. I am now two weeks past the one year mark and my order still has not been picked up. I have been on the phone with the sales person and sales manager every few weeks and they just keep telling me "any day now" but they also admit that many orders on their books that were placed way after mine have already been filled and delivered. At this point I don't know if I should just give up and get something else or continue to wait. I have found my exact same order combo sitting on at least 6 different lots around the US but they are selling for 8-10K over MSRP and I paid $500. I have a copy of my order paperwork with the order number on it so I know it was actually placed. Van Griffith is a medium size shop when it comes to orders. I can see many getting delivered each week there and I am way past my place in the line for production but I am not getting picked up. A suggestions would be appreciated.

This is frustrating indeed. I honestly don't think you are going to get anywhere with trying to contact a regional manager. I think you need to appeal to the Sales Manager to speak to the owner and have the owner reach out to their Kia Corporate Regional contacts. It's really up to the dealer. You've ordered a trim (like mine) that is just not being produced as much as other trims. That's why you are seeing others being filled that came in after yours. Given your dates, you are likely close to being picked up - but some key questions to ask the dealer - how many SX-Prestige X-Line orders from that dealer are in front of you? Sounds like you should be first. How many SX-Prestige X-Lines have they been allocated by Kia in the last three months? With this information you can figure out approximately when you'll be picked up.

Update to my saga I'll call making lemonade out of lemons..... I did my usual search of nearly every dealer within 1000 miles of me and happen to find a Jungle Green SXP X Pro with terra cotta interior coming into a dealer that sold them for 1800 over MSRP which included the usual tint, lo jack, tire permaseal, maintenance, etc. so I decided to walk from my order after more than 12 months and buy it on the spot. Car arrived two days ago and I am flying there this weekend to get it and drive home. I wish I would have done this earlier but just kept hoping my order would come in. Lesson learned for me. Big thanks to Stephen Cantrelle for his super valuable insight into the messed up Kia ordering process.

Can I just put my .02$ in and say this car is absolutely not worth wasting a year waiting for. Drive, fly, call, network, do anything but leave yourself to the whim of a dealership. It's not worth the frustrating experience.
