• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi all,

I’m a new owner of a Telluride and I’m trying to see if anyone has any experience or has heard anything about installing OEM roof rails on the 2023 LX model.

I’ve heard conflicting advice from my local dealership: the parts guy says it can’t be done, while the service guy I talked to said LX roof rails should be available to order sometime later this year (he guessed by May).

Is this a problem other 2023 LX owners are coming across? If so, any good ideas?

They are the same parts for a 2020-2022 as they are for the 2023. Part# S9F21 AC001

The only issue would be if you went with an X-Line model, which the LX isn't offered in X-Line trim (you have to go up to an EX trim level).

Honestly, you would probably be better off just buying Snailfly crossbars from Amazon. $122, and you get a $12 coupon. It will cost you a lot less, and installing crossbars is not rocket science. Super easy.

Those are the cross bars, I’m wondering about the actual roof rails that crossbars attach to (rails that run the length of the vehicle).

I bought the car in a bit of a rush (long story) and didn’t notice that it didn’t have these rails. I’m hoping that I can get them installed down the line, but it’s been harder to figure this out than I expected.

Thanks for the crossbar guidance, though. Hopefully I can use it once I figure out these rails.

Ok, now I understand what you are referring to. Sorry, didn't even realize the LX trim doesn't come with the rails. I just thought that was standard on all trims. Sorry man.

No, the LX doesn’t have roof rails. No, you can’t add them. No, no one with any LX (2020-23) has added them to date.

Your only option if you are desiring a roof rack is to find a system designed for cars with a bare roof.

Welp, that sucks. Thanks for the information.

Wondering if there have been any developments since this was last responded to. I have the LX with a bare roof and also would like to install some crossbars and a roof basket. Would rather fit some roof rails for the crossbar to attach to.
