  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I haven't bought a Telluride yet , I've been researching. I've seen some scary thread's as to the vehicle and KIA the company . Buy Y or N ?

BUY YESSSSSS

Yes. I've been very happy with my '22 SXP since Nov '22.

I'm sure if you go through every car forum, you will see some scary threads about issues.

Welcome. Keep in mind that most of the time, BY FAR, you will see people's complaints online. MOST people don't go online to talk about how there are no problems with their experience.

Yes, pay thousands over invoice, travel great distances, be surprised when your car comes with or without the options your ordered. Do it NOW! ;)

Ok, I think the Telluride OVERALL has an excellent reliability record compared to all other SUVs on the market today. Modern cars have a zillion parts to them as well as complex electronics. There are bound to be some issues.
KIA has a lousy reputation in-so-far as customer service. That to me should be the number one issue for concern for the OP. So here is my take. A big part of their problem is the supply chain issue that affects everything we get from the far east. Get that solved and KIA will do and look much better.
I am willing to take the chance that my new Telluride will not be a lemon and that I won't have to deal very much with KIA in the next few years. So far, my Sorento has been a wonderful car where everything little thing works perfect.

Have you seen any happy threads that PRAISE the car and KИ the company?

Many threads praising the car, but few, if any, positive ones on KIA the company.

I actually own two Kia's, 2022 Sportage along with 2020 Telluride. So far dealer and warranty items handled on par with other similar makes. I joked about buying one , it seems like the buying process is the biggest factor.

I'm on my third Kia.

2008 Sorento LX
2018 Sorento EX AWD (wife's car)
2022 Telluride SXP AWD (my car)

Had the 2008 Sorento for 10 years. Our 2018 Sorento is slotted to be with us until around 2028.

So far, we've never had any major mechanical issues with the three. I just did the regularly scheduled maintenance for each.

My parents both have KIAs as well (an 11-year-old Sedona and I forget what year but also an Optima). No issues with those as well.

Thank you all ! You are right , I’ve read so much good and bad that it hurt my head and enthusiasm toward a purchase. I almost considered the more expensive MDX which has it’s own issues . Let me see my next step , research and real life experiences like yourselves are still king ! Thanks again .

Consumer Reports is an excellent source.

The two cars for me were either the Telluride or the Palisade (I looked at a ton of others as well but in the end, it came down to these two). I watched pretty much every review video you could find on Youtube, didn't matter if it was a 2020, a 2022, or even the 2023.

I was game for either an '22 EX Premium AWD Nightfall or a Limited Palisade. With all the markups, I couldn't get Hyundai to come down enough on the Palisade to what I was willing to pay. The '22 EXP AWD with markups were pretty high as well. I ended up finding a dealership that had a '22 SXP AWD marked up to $60K that was willing to sell for MSRP, $50K to meet end-of-year sales numbers. So, in the end, I bought that since I got more car for my money. Only thing I did not get was the Nightfall package. I already blacked out lettering and badging. I plan to Hyperdip the trim in Shadow Black to complete the chrome delete.

While you will read a lot of threads with complains about different things, know there are a ton more owners out there that are pretty happy with their purchase, me being one of them.

Thank you, I'm researching dealerships for a SX ,prestige X line, if I can find one for what I feel is a good price.

I seriously doubt if you will find any dealers that sell below MSRP. Depending on where you live, you'll find many dealers are still marking up $5K or so above MSRP. However, there are some selling at MSRP, or more likely some that require you to purchase their dealer "protection" package -- anywhere from $1400-2000. Also, you will be hit with many incidental charges -- things like Dealers Business License Tax, Registration Fee, Processing Fee, etc., that add another grand to the price. Just so you know -- it ain't as advertised.
