• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2020 AWD With 38k miles. Last several months and getting worse there is a very noticeable binding or biting when turning left or right from a stop. A nice easy turn either direction and you can feel it. First I thought it was from the rear but the worse it gets it seems like it's from front and back. Going straight from a stop you don't feel it. I haven't found this issue anywhere online yet and of course the first time the dealer couldn't replicate it because they just did a few circles in their parking lot. I returned with it the next week and made a tech ride with me. He felt it and said yep there's an issue and he would call tech specialist at kia. It is scheduled to go in next week and I called ahead of time and of course Kia hasn't got back to them yet. Only thing that I seen was a close issue was a tsb with the Stingers where they were changing diff fluid and adding friction modifiers. To me it does seem like it could be a fluid issue. Anyone have similar problem?

Wow I can't believe no one else has come across this issue. 😥

I think I might have felt it when the wheel is turned as far as it goes and reversed. But maybe only once or twice. Not something I’ve regularly experienced.

The Stinger has the reverse issue. This is not in reverse and it is not subtle, it is very evident something isn't right.

YES. Mine is most noticeable turning left from a stop. Feels almost like running over a couple hoses. Not sure if it is suspension, wheel bearings, transmission….

if anyone gets an answer, let me know.

2020 LX, AWD, 54000 miles. Replaced tires, no difference.

Well it's the AWD viscous coupler for the rear. They advised it shouldn't be driven and of course part is on back order. And best part we are leaving for FL vacation in a few days. They did set up a rental for us though but I feel more comfortable driving our own vehicle on vaca.

Ugh. Are they covering the repair? How long to fix it?

All under warranty and the repair is fairly quick I believe, whenever they get the part and who knows when that will be.

Well they called yesterday and they received the part already and it's fixed and it seems to be ok now.

Glad the issue is fixed. The first appt I could get is in October…hopefully they will get mine fixed too. Please follow up if anything changes.
thx.

I have had the issue on my 21 S AWD, but only a handful of times in the 36k lifespan of my Telly so far, cannot replicate on command or anything.

I too am having this issue. They have told me the air compression and it’s normal. They then told me there was a bent tie rod. Got 4 new tires and alignment after replacing the tie rod but still no luck. Have you gotten any answers or improvement

The original poster said it was the AWD viscous coupler. I have an appt in a couple weeks…we’ll see what they say.

This happens on our AWD Telluride. Sometimes it would happen when you have to pull out fast and the rear wheels are providing traction. It's almost hitting a pothole thats not there. We hit 60k and did a full driveline fluid service. Replacing the rear differential fluid seems to have resolved the problem for us.

Took mine in…of course it didn’t happen for the mechanic. Maybe the cold weather affects it? Anyway, what did they charge you for the differential fluid change? Has it fixed the issue? Thx.

I have a 2021 with 33k on it and it is starting to do this. I thought it was the tires at first but they’re brand new. I hope it’s not something super crazy or something that causes me to be without it for very long.

Have you figured yours out yet?

Is that what was wrong with yours also? I am calling to schedule and appointment tomorrow as I am experiencing the same exact issue with my 2021 SX AWD

It fixed the issue 95%. I got all of the drivetrain fluids changed, rear diff, transmission (included front diff), engine oil. I think it was around $300. The problem completely went away for a long time. Occasionally it comes back much less severe when the weather is hot or i've been driving around for a while. We have 72k miles now.

We changed the engine oil, transmission fluid (includes front differential), and rear differential fluid and it was very reasonably priced. I believe it was between $200 - 300. It resolved the problem completely for a while, it only started to come back recently when things are really hot and you've been driving a while. It is much less severe though and you hardly notice it. We have 72k miles now.
