In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Telluride Issue - Water Entering The Interior

Crazy considering all the factory videos on YouTube show every single Telluride going through the heavy rain test.

Our month old EX-P had this after a rainstorm a couple of weeks ago. Made an appointment and they found a leak at the base of the windshield. They will be replacing the windshield and lower trim upon warranty approval, no idea when that will be. In the meantime, we've swapped vehicles with my in-laws as they have covered parking and another vehicle to use if they happened to need to get out in the rain. Pretty upsetting on a $49k vehicle with only 1900 miles.
What do they need to "approve" on the warranty? The entire vehicle is under warranty, especially for non consumables. I hate dealers so much sometimes.

Apparently when it comes to replacing glass they have to get an approval. I had to send them about 8 pictures of various angles of the windshield to prove it wasn't damaged. I don't know why the service manager didn't take those pictures before he sent it home with me. I got with Kia Consumer Affairs (KCA) at the 10 day mark of not hearing anything about the "approval" which is when I was told they needed the pictures. Communication from the dealer got a little better, but it still has seemed to take 5-7 business days for the warranty communications. I finally got the approval on Thursday, and the earliest they could get it in is Wednesday the 20th. That'll be a full month since I discovered the leak and swapped cars with my in-laws, and a full three weeks since they supposedly submitted the warranty request. KCA said there is nothing they can offer in way of compensation for the insanity that has transpired with this. We've had my in-laws crappy CR-V this whole time since we don't have covered parking and it's rained every few days. They live an hour away so it's not an easy swap.

Wow! That's nightmarish and doesn't bode well for Kia's customer service. I'd make them aware that they need to pay for anything the rain damages due to negligence of not acting In a timely manner.

I'm going through the same thing now. I received my new 2022 SX nightfall/prestige on January 27, 2022 (after waiting about 3 months).

After a particular rainfall in the middle of March, I noticed 1-2 drops of water dripping from the "arm" of the driver's side visor. Called for a service appointment. They tried to replicate the issue by running it through a car wash and hosing it down, but couldn't find anything (I didn't think they would, as I've been hand washing the car myself and never had an issue). The dealer sent me on my way and said to call back if it happens again, in which case they would have to call a waterproofing specialist.

Fast forward to yesterday, April 30th. We had our first very heavy storm of the season here (I live in S. Florida and rainy season is upon us). I got in my car to find the left half of the driver's seat wet, a more steady stream of drops from the visor area, a small pool of water on the driver's side floor mat and the headliner under the visor wet, as well as the headliner between the driver's side window and windshield wet.

I called and headed to the dealer immediately (so they could see it first-hand). Was told they have to call the specialist to detect where it's coming from....and in the meantime basically by a tarp or car cover until the appointment can be made. I'm so upset, I love my car but am now afraid this will just lead to more issues down the line. I was able to put the car in a family member's garage with fans running to dry the headliner. Really hoping for an easy fix, because this is ridiculous given the wait time & cost for this vehicle. I attached a few pictures for reference.

Look up the Florida lemon law. Sounds like the dealer is on attempt #2

We finally got our EX back from having the windshield replaced. After pressing the KCA specialist named Molly about the fact we were without our vehicle for almost a month, she was able to get us one month's payment reimbursed to us. This only happened because it took our service department another week to get it in after getting the approval after they had told me and her that it would be done right away. Also, our SX that we ordered will be in within the next week from what Lucas said, which is actually early considering we were still 13th in line when our order was assigned to a vehicle already in production.

Fun story with the CR-V, it developed the electrical gremlin while in our possession that has plagued Hondas for several years. That's what caused us to dump our brand new 2021 Pilot after just 11k miles/11 months for a Telluride. Because of this electrical gremlin, the in-laws have also dumped their CR-V in favor of a CX-5. The comparable Kia Sportage would have been a few thousand more because they reserve memory seats for top trim lines, and it's not available anywhere nearby right away like the CX-5 is.

I have noticed that after a hard rain that my doors are holding water. When I open the doors after it rains the water pours out from the bottom of the door.
I also am noticing a musty smell from time to time. Has anyone else had this issue?

Welcome. Moving this topic out of the community "lounge" and into the Telluride area...

My 2021 Kia Telluride just developed a leak. Water/rain is leaking into the passenger side floorboard when it rains. According to what I am reading, it may be a leak from the windshield. I hope this is correct and they can fix it pretty quickly (yeah, right). I am taking it to the dealership tomorrow so they can check it out. It is crazy to me how this just started happening within the last 2 weeks or so. We shall see.

Same with our 2021 Kia Telluride. Significant water in the passenger side floor mat.

We purchased a new Telluride 3 weeks ago, and noticed moisture under the rear passenger floor mat a week later. We took it in and they said it was a clogged drain from the AC and cleared it. On weeks 2 the water showed back up and we took it back to the dealership who tested for leaks and weren't sure what was wrong. After speaking with KIA Corp- We took to another KIA dealership - who removed the seats and flooring to discover 5 gallons of water just sitting in the bottom of the chassis. They now have to remove everything and do a flood mitigation as there is wiring and control boxes exposed to water. They still don't know exactly why this is happening. I haven't even had the car for 30 days and am uncomfortable with the potential of mold and corrosion. Thoughts

Our Telluride 2024 is 4 weeks old and after three trips pulled 5 gallons of water out from under the floorboard. They are not sure of the source and we had the AC drains cleared in our last visit.

Simple I think - MAKE THEM TAKE IT BACK! They owe you a new car - period. BUT, they will probably try to weasel out of it. That is when I would say .... Gentlemen, my lawyer will be in contact with you.

You didn’t hear 5 gallons of water sloshing around when you were driving?

Actually we didn't- as the technician showed us that there is a 4" foam "sponge" that covers the bottom of the chassis. The sponge soaked up all that water. They "wrung out" 3.5 gallons from the sponge and dry vacuumed another couple of gallons from the chassis. There are rubber chassis drain plugs that are used for cars that get submerged - and they drained some water that way as well.

I am also thinking this might have been caused by a defective sunroof - or even someone left it open at the factory after build, enroute to the dealer, or even at the dealer depending on how long they had it. I can't imagine this happening during the build.

I also think that it has something to do with a leak. We haven't run the AC much (we are in Northern NY) - but we have had a ton of rain. I don't like the design flaw where there can be "rising water" unbeknownst to anyone. We found it by accident.

Design flaw? Or defective sunroof? Or they left it open during a downpour and tried to cover it up?
