Hitch Mounted Bike Racks

I'm nervous about my hitch mounted bike rack. Remembering to disable rear automatic braking is a bit of a pain, but that's what every SUV owner must suffer with a bike rack. The worrisome part is inadvertently opening the liftgate. Here's what I think would help & maybe the forum can enlighten me of yet undiscovered answers. I think the ability to disable all gate opening options other than actually touching the switch on the gate (which should not be automatically defeated every time the car is started) would be ideal. This obviously would be best, but disabling the gate from the fob and/or disabling the dash gate release switch would be helpful. Or if the rear warning system could detect the rack without disabling the other safety items & not allow the gate to open when there are any obstructions (pipe dream probably). Curious what other have found that helps preventing this very costly error.

Just realized I screwed up my intro. Anyhow, had our 2023 since Feb. Generally pleased, save some well intended technology that is sometimes a source of aggravation. Travel between FL & VA. Ready for my first oil change & replace the boogered up console grab bar (from the factory) that the dealer promised to replace when the part arrived.

I just put a piece of foam cushion where the door contacts the hitch in case of accidentally opening. No harm, no foul.
