• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2023 Telluride Trailer Hitch Receiver availability

It was only an option you could order and pay for. The cost was reduced appropriately when our vehicle arrived sans trailer hitch package.
That’s correct. The option was $575. To have a hitch installed now, the cost is over $1,000.

Quick question that may have been asked: Can you install the hitch and bumper cover first then come back and install the latch and wiring harness later?

I've bought the kit but haven't gotten around to installing it. Then today, I was rear-ended. I want to see if the repair shop will install the hitch since they'll have everything dismantled. I'm sure they'll want to charge me for the extra work. So, I'm thinking to just have them do the 'hard' part, assuming the wiring and latch aren't a big hassle to to after.

I've installed the hitch and bumper cover already so do not anticipate any issues with installing the wiring harness and latch later. Not sure the wiring harness or latch is that much easier.

It would probably be a good idea to have the repair place install the hitch to insure everything with the unibody is in alignment. They will need to know that there is slack in the hitch to frame interface and the hitch will flex to the frame when installed per directions.

Same story here, dealer actually made me drive 100 miles to get one put on and after being there for two hours they figured out they only have the 2022 hitch and it's apparently not compatible. I had to install an after market hitch and now I'm having an issue with the wiring. My trailer lights stay on consistently and I'm getting a burnt rubber smell after towing.
I just got my hitch installed and unbeknownst to me they are trying to charge me $1100 for it saying the towing package does not include the hitch.

Anyone installed this yet? With pictures?
Agree. I downloaded the instructions for the latch upgrade and it does not look easy. Lots to disassemble and also some wires to cut and splice also I believe. I am leaving this to the professionals. My install is scheduled for next week.

So they didn't tell you that up-front? Tell them they can have it back!

This is correct. Tow package does not include the hitch. The hitch was a stand alone option that cost $595, but they deleted these from orders due to all the issues they were having with the recall. To have one installed at the dealer, it runs around $1000.

Honda started doing this goofy thing as well to nickle and dime. You get a hitch on a Trailsport but the harness is extra...

How did you get the rear trim off? Do you have the power liftgate? TIA

I posted the video a while back, along with the min:sec where they take it off. Scroll back through this thread and you should find it.

From another post. start at 7 min and 30 seconds.

Here is the part no. for the Kia Trailer Hitch by itself that fits the 2023 and I expect the 2024. I purchased and installed mine in May. No facia is currently available nor trailer wiring harness, but it is not difficult to trim as shown on page 9 of this thread. I'll purchase a harness when Kia gets there act together. 7-wire harness have just become available from Canadian Hyundai dealers.

did this hitch come with the holes by the receiver to attach the bumper cover to?

yes, the trailer hitch has the two holes for the cover. I didn't use the holes for my modified cover so climbed under the vehicle this morning and checked.
