  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I looked through several of the postings on grill screens but did not see any questions about snow/ice buildup during winter driving. I live in the Chicago area and am wondering if there are any problems with ice/slush build up on the grill screens that would block air flow to the radiator?
I posted a similar question at voltstop last week, but so far no reply.
I am thinking of all the build up I get in wheel wells and mud flaps in winter driving.
My apologies if I missed seeing a posting on this elsewhere in the forum. Thank you. Appreciate hearing about experiences in the snow states.

Except when I hit the edge of the road and plowed through the snow piled on the side of the road, I had no trouble with snow and ice buildup on the screens during a CO mountain winter.

Buildup on cameras and the front radar plate...yes. On the screens blocking air flow? No.

On mudflaps and in wheelwells. Normal. But the screens were not an issue.

I see there are three types of grill screen: woven, welded, expanded. Do you have a sense of which is preferred for a 2024 Telluide and why? Just picked up a new Telluride and want to get these ordered. Thanks for your help.

PS Looking at the screens from VoltStuff.

Check out this post for a lot of information - including info about the type of screen.

This one is linked in the above, but this one also has good info answering that question.

I got the woven and installed it myself on my 2024. But it doesn't really matter which you choose. Anything that will work on the 2023 will work on the 2024 as the grill is the same.
