It does not spec ACEAInteresting video on Valvoline's new Restore and Protect engine oil for those of you with engine oil consumption.
EDIT: Some positive Amazon reviews. I don't have oil consumption issue yet, but I'm considering restore and protect at 60k, 90k, 12k, etc.

Yes I have alsoMy 2020 Telluride has 62k miles and has received regular oil changes. It just recently started to feel like it was going to stall when I came to a stop. Shortly afterwards it started making a weird noise. No odors, no warning lights displayed. My husband decided to check the oil and it was literally dry. He had to add 4 quarts of oil before it even touched the dip stick. We have an appointment with the dealership in a week, but I’m afraid that they are going to blame this on not getting the vehicle serviced on a regular basis or that nothing is wrong with it. My biggest concern is the fact that the check engine light never came on which could have posed a serious risk to the vehicle or myself. I’d love to know if anyone has experienced similar issues.
my 2020 telluride has 89541 on it and it uses 4.5 quarts of oil at 4200 miles and it is serviced every 5000 miles at the dealer. They tell me this is normal for this engine something is wrong.Yes I have also
Same here, if there is a "low oil" sensor, it never comes on. If there's a low oil pressure warning, I've never seen it. Last year within less than 5k miles after an oil change our Telluride started ticking, I checked the oil, bone dry. I put in 2.5 quarts before I could even see any oil whatsoever on the very tip of the dipstick. The next time we drove it, rod knock and the engine was dead.Yes I have also
Nope!!i am a new (<2500 miles) owner, so i have to ask: doesn't an "oil" light show on the dash to notify a low oil status?
There is the normal low-oil-pressure light. Other than that, the driver is not given information on oil level.Nope!!![]()
the normal low oil pressure light doesn't work on the telluride so what's the point?...my subaru has low oil pressure and a low oil level lights...never seen the low pressure turn on but that's because the low level pops on first and i put a quart inThere is the normal low-oil-pressure light. In my experience that kind of feature is uncommon, probably because the oil level can really only be checked when the engine is not running and there has been time for the oil to drain back down after the engine has run. My wife's Mini has such a system and it is a PITA to use, but the wizards at Mini have determined that the dipstick can be eliminated. The result is that she does not check the oil level as often as she should, like "never" unless I remind her.
I dunno. The low oil pressure light in my Tellie seems to work just fine. The pressure sensors that I have seen and used are very simple mechanical devices wire directly to the light and just ground the sense wire when OP is below threshold. I have never had one fail, even on racing engines, but that doesn't say that they don't or can't.the normal low oil pressure light doesn't work on the telluride so what's the point?...my subaru has low oil pressure and a low oil level lights...never seen the low pressure turn on but that's because the low level pops on first and i put a quart in
so your telluride has had low oil pressure and the light has come on before?...mine lights up when i put the car in accessory mode but i doubt it would work for it's actual purposeI dunno. Re Soobs, my last car was a WRX but I don't know whether it had a low-oil-level sensor in addition to the alarm pressure switch.
Why do you doubt?so your telluride has had low oil pressure and the light has come on before?...mine lights up when i put the car in accessory mode but i doubt it would work for it's actual purpose

That light has NEVER come on in my car to indicate low oil and I was down 5 quarts 6k miles after previous oil change. That’s the indicator light I wanted someone to show a picture of on here. Thank you for posting that.what i'm saying is no one here has ever said that the low oil pressure light popped on when the oil is almost all out of the engine...therefore whatever sensor is supposed to turn the light on does not work or is designed incorrectly...so other than seeing it turn on in accessory mode like below, it doesn't function/turn on when it's supposed to, so what good is having the light...just because it lights up when you start the car doesn't mean it functions properly
OP please put a poll on this thread asking if anyone has ever seen the low oil pressure light come on and how much oil was left when it did...probably won't happen since OP only has 1 post ever

i would imagine the light should come on by that point...the car takes a little under 7 quarts total...started a poll to see if anyone else has any inputThat light has NEVER come on in my car to indicate low oil and I was down 5 quarts 6k miles after previous oil change. exactly...under concept 1 when the low oil pressure light turns on the engine is most likely already damaged so it's pretty useless since the car was being run without sufficient oil cause they set the pressure at which the light turns on too low...maybe this can be fixed with a software update?...and under concept 2, no, i am not expecting it to light up cause a low oil level light doesn't exist on this car, but it should be added with the next redesign to prevent engine damage since the low oil pressure light is not going to prevent damage from happeningWADR I think you're mixing up two concepts.
Concept #1: If the light works like every other one I've seen it will come on when oil pressure is near zero -- below its trigger threshold which may be something like 5 or 10PSI. IOW it means that for all practical purposes the engine is out of oil and should be shutdown immediately to prevent bearing damage. It might also trigger if a bearing has been damaged to the point where the clearance is so large that the oil pump cannot maintain pressure. Either way, the engine is done and you're likely to get a seized engine or rod through the side of the case if you keep going.
Concept #2: That the light is warning of low oil level. You seem to be expecting this and I don't think that's right. I don't think the light is intended to or is capable of doing this. So if you get the light you cannot expect to limp somewhere to top the oil back up. Maybe. Maybe not. Dirty Harry's famous line applies: "...you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do you, punk?"
Now it is true that some cars do have a low oil level light (My RX-8 did IIRC) but Kia does not advertise this as being one of them. That's why they say: "Drive carefully to the nearest safe location and stop your vehicle."
