Order to delivery time

edit2: Just as an aside, this is not only the worst car buying experience I've ever had, but probably the worst experience purchasing any product pretty much ever.

Similar things happened with the Ascent last year and the Atlas the year before that. Too many people ordering a hot car and getting frustrated with communication and delivery times.

I took delivery of an SXP, dark moss with black nappa.

I ordered moss with dune on 4/22. Dealer stated it would be another 2-3 months for dune.

All in all I am very happy. Dealer honored MSRP price, finance incentive, competitive incentive (this is still honored for those that put in an order) and extra discount because of the interior.

I can’t stop looking at it in my driveway. Worth the 3.5 month wait for sure!

None of the orders at my dealer have been accepted by the factory (according to their sales manager). I find this dubious but don't have any evidence against this claim. The one other dealer salesperson that was able to talk about the subject at all told me they haven't had any accepted orders this year. They've been handing them out based on random allocations matching customer orders.



I get it, I'm just really frustrated and don't know who or what to believe anymore. Kia customer service has proven extremely unhelpful in this whole situation as well. No one knows anything. Dealers claim to have no information. Kia claims to not know any more than the dealer.



Northern New Jersey, if you can point me to a guy who knows a guy...

I ordered in Northern/Central NJ from Sansone Kia. MSRP minus incentives, but i'm still waiting and just got a delivery date of September 16 exactly 5 months after I ordered it.

I think the let down has been some people waiting 5 months for their car only to have the dealer try to add on 2k worth of crap or a market adjustment. At that point the vehicle is there and after 5 months it's hard to walk away. So the more important dealer is knowing that that STILL honoring MSRP at delivery.

Texas here. Dallas area. Ordered SX and was given a vin number two weeks later. Exactly as I wanted. Delivered 4 weeks later. Maybe a fluke but it went fast, dealer was great, and the vehicle is outstanding. 3 weeks in.

Was it a prestige model or regular SX? What was your configuration?

Regular SX. Didn’t need AWD, HUD, etc. love the vehicle.

This is the copy i got of my re-order. Does anyone know what option group 027 includes? Also, is there a way to tell the seat color from this? I know the SXP always seems to show black interior (I think WK is black) and the actual seat color can be seen in the options on the window sticker. Maybe that's part of the option code? I just want to double check and make sure everything is right.

We have dune seats and ours is showing as wk n. So you are probably right. Wk is black and then ours has an n for dune??

I am still waiting on Delivery of my White SXP w/ Gray Nappa, they pushed the initial date back from 8/7 to the new date they gave me of 8/25. We have an agreed upon price in writing though, $1000 below MSRP + all available incentives at time of delivery and I'm hoping I will have my founders club offer still honored as well.

It is right after the wk. so I assume it is the next box over on your screen. We got moss dune awd with tow. I have a vin and seen the window sticker with dune listed.

I wanted cross bars and no floor mats. The sticker has mats and no crossbars. But everything else is right. I have heard that mats come in all of them.

Dune is 022 for the Opt Grp section, thats what the dealership manager told me.

I'm curious about as well about possible differences in order fulfillment based on trim. On July 25, we placed an order for a S trim with 8-seat package, which is an impossible configuration to find in stock with dealers as almost all S trims are built in the standard 7-seat captain's chairs configuration (My wife's non-negotiable feature is heated driver's seat for the cold Chicago winters). Wondering if there is any difference in wait times for S or EX trims, as opposed to SXP configurations! Will post updates for our order as well...
