• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello. I've googled this for the last hour and cannot find any information...

Does anyone know what the OEM Kia ball mount that comes with the hitch kit capacity is? There is nothing on the mount besides see users owner manual which also doesn't have any information on the ball mount.

Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly it was at least 500, but it doesn’t matter because the limit is the tongue weight of the Telluride which is 500.

Thanks. What about the towing capacity? 5k? 6k?

the information you are looking for is in your owner’s manual. Or even easier just search it on your favorite search engine.

I believe that a 2023 SX Prestige X-Pro can tow a maximum of 5,500 lbs. If you want to tow a 5,500 lb trailer, you'll want a ball that is rated for that weight.

Thank you. I'm aware of the vehicles towing capacity but appreciate you confirming.

What I'm unsure about is the actual ball mount capacity that comes with the Kia tow hitch. The 2" piece that goes into the hitch that holds the ball.

Tongue weight is 500lbs. If you stick to 10% then the max towing is 5,000lbs. Unless XPro has a 550lb TW, I would stick to 5,000.

Most Tellurides are 500lb max tongue weight, thus 5,000lb max towing. Looks like the latest manual points out that the XPro trim does have 550lb tongue weight and max of 5,500lb max towing but the manual does stipulate to over inflate the 18” rear tires on the XPro by 5psi when towing. But as far as the OEM ball mount goes, it is probably 600-650lb rating however you should stick to tongue weight.
