Will be paying1900 bucks federal this year at the last possible minute. Plus we are both retired and pay quarterly taxes. Somebody is living high on my bucks, 'cause we sure as hell ain't.

Nah, no business and out of the landlord stuff a decade ago, just several pieces of property we've been selling off over the last few years and some 401K, IRA stuff we are finally tapping into.

We are heading to the mts. tomorrow for two days, then back here for various appts. and social commitments.

Roughed out my state ( N.J. ) tax return, what a waste of time. Every year they owe me $ 120.00.
Paperwork I filled out when I retired from the Navy, ( 1989 ), wouldn't allow me to not have state tax withheld, the least I could do was $ 10/month....................which they give me back..

...just another day here in Florida. It's been sunny and mostly cool - but getting warmer in the afternoons. No coffee, only hot carob as caffeine has been bothering me... I've tried THIS before, and I liked it, so I have an order arriving tomorrow. So I may have a decent cup of hot stuff tomorrow.

Ski season in Beech Mountain, NC ends in another 8 days, then the mountain area goes into a two month hibernation between ski season and mountain bike season.

No Florida tourists or halfbacks for a couple of months. Oops, now I've done it... semi-derogatory remarks about Florida won't exactly ingratiate me with the powers that be around here!!!! LOL

Hah! Don't worry, it's always nice when the tourists and such go home. Here, we have the snowbirds - and our roads, which are already busy as hell, get even busier. The snowbirds are actually very nice but, I guess like grandkids - it's nice when they go back.

Got a refund check from Kia Finance America.
When I bought the 25, Kia was running a rebate program, $ 1000 off the purchase.
How it worked for me:
Finance @ least $ 7500.00 for 48 months, no penalty for early payoff......( 31 Jan. 2025 )
So I financed $ 7500, waited ( 8 ) days, called them to get a payoff amount, which was $ 7536.68.
Sent them a cashiers check, waited ( 8 ) days, called to see if they got the check, which they had.
So the 25 was paid off on 16 Feb. 2025...............( still waiting for the title )
10 March 2025 I get a check for $ 17.78.
End result = $ 1000 rebate cost me $ 18.90 in interest,...................not bad !!

Nice deal! It does pay to, well, pay attention to these things. Most don't! And I'm guilty of that as well...

Nothing special going on here today. Sunny and warm'ish. Still nice weather here before the heavy heat and humidity comes. I have my cup of carob but my coffee alternative arrives today - so tomorrow will be a better hot drink morning.

Good morning! Or afternoon by now... Everybody likes those WeatherTech mudflaps (and floor mats). They're great products. I have my Caffix and Carob and it's not too bad, really. Oh and I also add monk fruit sweetener. The weather is beginning to get warmer down here. It's about 1pm here now. Always late to the game/party - but such is life... Have a great day!

Had my first oil change at 4100 mile. We bought the 6 change package from the dealer. I was pleasantly surprised, they changed the oil and filter and rotated the tires and didn't try to up charge me for anything.
It did take an hour and 5 minutes which I thought was a bit long considering I had an appt.
We are spending the next week or two at Beech Mt, NC.
Temps here this morning are 37° with a light rain. Expected to climb a few degrees to 41° by midday.
Expecting some snow showers late tonight and into Saturday morning. Probably less than an inch accumulation.

Coffee and good morning (or afternoon) to you too! Glad to hear it sounds like you have a good dealership. I'm almost surprised they didn't try to upcharge you on anything. I see it's getting warm up there! We're still seeing some 50s and 60s in the morning here in Florida. But mostly 70s / and then high 80s during the day. Decent weather lately...

27° this morning with a light snow, actually more like a heavy frost. The lawn has a bit of white mixed in the grass, the trees are all sparkly white. Very foggy and the high is heading to 40°. We should begin to see the upper tree tops budding their greenery in the next 3 or 4 weeks. In contrast, just two hours southeast of us at the lowland house the leaves are already out and pollen has been covering everything for the past two or three weeks.

TF, I'm guessing all your Florida neighbors that own summer houses up here will be leaving for NC and the Ga mountains in another month.
Out of the eight houses on our street here in Beech Mt, 5 of them are Florida residents, from Parkland, Fl. , Winter Park, Fl., Jupiter, Fl., Hallandale, Fl., West Palm Beach, Fl.

We've been having nice weather over here. It's in the 80s and sunny today. Yes, it's almost time for the snowbirds to move up north again. The roads usually get clearer during this time - but over the past few years - his has mostly stopped happening. The roads are still extremely busy - all year long. Our popular has gone up tremendously.

I've been traveling between locations and finally got a chance to sit down and check out the website.
We drove the Telluride back from the mts. I have an after market seat cushion in it now to help the uncomfortable seating in our car. It really helps. Normally two hours is about all I can stand, but yesterday I was able to drive for 4 hours without discomfort. If KIA would improve the seating, give us a "real" massage seat instead of this ever hour or two hour simple vibration, then it would be the perfect car for me. I still love it, don't get me wrong, but some improvements would help from my point of view.
My 2017 F150 has the best massage seats I've ever had. They actually massage and have a low and high setting.

Coffee is long gone this morning.

57* this morning, slept with the windows open last night. Cloudy & supposed to hit 82*, we'll see.
Cleaned up the Shelby, getting ready for the 1st cruise night on the 25th.
Maybe take it out tomorrow morning if the weather is nice..

My wife and I just completed the migration north from the Sunshine State.
Some 1,200 miles. Straight through, with the Richmond Va to North of Baltimore being it's usual mess.

The Telly performed admirably albeit she lacks the passing power of the beemer it replaced. Albeit the MPG and the ablility to haul stuff bests the former.
I did just perform an oil change and checkover (self) a couple of days prior to my departure.
Dealer filter and Pennzoil Premium 5w-30.

FWIW I save my receipts, log the information into a spreadsheet with dates/mileage etc.
Should anything untoward arise. I have the backup documentation for proper servicing.
