• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have not experienced any problems but am noticing a scraping noise in the rear under body when I shut down the engine. It sounds like a lever moving. Anyone hearing similar or know about this?

Maybe the electric motor that automatically engages the electronic braking system on the rear wheels when you shut the vehicle off?

I honestly had the same thought. I hope you are correct. My hesitation is that I just started hearing this noise in March of 2025. Thanks for your input.

That is a good theory. I actually had the same thought. However, I would think that this is a noise which would have been there since the start of usage. I am just now hearing it at 33K.

If you're in a garage or a very quiet place.... before you shut the car off, put it in park, put your foot on the brake, open the driver's door and listen carefully towards the rear area of the car as you manually engage and disengage the parking brake with the button on the console. See if you can hear it then.

thanks for the test tip. Will try.

Did you just have the Parking Brake recall fix done? B/c the fix is to automatically engage the P-Brake every time you turn your car off.

Were you ever able to solve the mystery?
