• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Is there an easy way to change out the manual intermittent wipers for the ones that automatically sense rain and come on? I had those on my previous vehicle and did not realize how much I would miss them.

On page 4-106 of my owners manual, it shows where the rain sensor is located in the windshield, & how to adjust the speed..

I would happily exchange the rain sensing wipers for manual intermittent wipers. Seems like they rarely work as advertised. That said, I imagine you would have to install the sensor and whatever software recognizes its input. Hopefully, the wiring harness is already there. Even so, it sounds like a nontrivial job.

Interestingly, my wife’s Mazda also came with rain sensing wipers. Like me, she didn’t think they worked very well. After a dive into the Googleverse, she found that Mazda builds in the capability of turning off the rain sensing and using that setting as conventional intermittent wipers. I was envious.

Turned off this function on both vehicles..

The Mazda actually disabled the rain sensing, so that position of the control now simply sets intermittent wiper timing. In other words, she went from having settings of off, auto, low, and high to having settings of off, intermittent, low, and high.

Are you telling me that there is a way to do this on a Telluride?

Just set it to off..

Interesting. I loved the rain sensing wipers on my Grand Cherokee. I did some additional research, and it does sound non-trivial, even if the wring is there for all the components. Thanks for the discussion.
