If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello all,

We finally placed an order on a SX AWD with Prestige & Towing Pkgs - Dark Moss with Dune Brown Nappa Leather.
Runner up for us was the Atlas SEL Premium 4Motion but the extra seatbelt in the third row was a big factor, along with the better tech and overall feel/look of the Telluride, let alone the great reviews.
Expected to be here anywhere between 2-3 months, could be a bit earlier or not. Dealer confirmed what I had seen on some threads recently that the SX w/Prestige Pkg was not able to be ordered for a while until a few weeks back, but it is once again available yet all sales people are nervous of another sudden close of orders again.
Was glad to order without any dealer markup. Another local dealer we went to that is closer to our home was upfront about their $3-$5k markup on all Tellurides, even if you order one and that all other dealers were doing it - which we found absurd and sure enough went to another dealer we had also emailed with before and there was no markup on any Tellurides.

We are very much looking forward to the whole process leading up to the delivery, if anyone that has also ordered a Telluride before can share a bit of what the timeline is like or what to expect, that would be super!

Cheers,
J

Everyone's experience and wait time is different. It depends how well your dealer communicates. some of us got their vehicles in less than 45 days from order (I was one of them). Some people placed an order 90 to 120 days ago and still don't have theirs. Some dealers give half-cocked answers as to the status of the order and some go out of their way to give accurate information. that doesn't really answer your question but kind of gives you an idea of the variability many have experienced

All the information about delivery times and expectations are mentioned here hundreds of times. You got some reading to do.

Which dealership? We placed an order with one in Fort Lauderdale also and they quoted us 4-6 months.

We placed ours at Gunther Kia.
Phil Smith Kia was adding markup on all Tellurides.

How about you ?

Same here! Gunther Kia. Granted we just placed it last week (Monday) and gave a $1k deposit but he told us it would be about 4-6 months but would let us know if anything changes. Perhaps you may have gotten a better sales person than I did.

We also just placed our this past Saturday. Fingers crossed they get here sooner than later. Our sales step told is December at the latest, and as early as mid-October.

Goodluck and congrats! Are you communicating with just your sales person about this or did the GM or anyone else let you know? Wondering if I need to follow up since we have very similar orders with very different timelines. Ours is a SX-p Moss with dune brown and tow package

Thanks and likewise!
This was just what he told us Saturday, we plan on touching base again this week to get some accessories as well. Ours is AWD, not sure if that has any difference in timeline.
He did tell us that it was a much shorter wait time for every trim except SX-P.

 I don’t understand, if the wait is half a year, wouldn’t it make much more sense just to walk back into the dealership at that time to pick one off the lot at under MSRP? 6 months from now this car will be as common as a Subaru.

Quick Update: Got word from our dealer today that our SX-P is coming between end of Sept to mid-October. Very glad to hear how much less time it would take, should everything go as planned, compared to the orders of other forum members.
Was interesting to find out that ours was the first AWD Telluride they've ordered, so the manager actually confirmed if we wanted the vehicle in that spec. Evidently not too many AWD Tellurides are being ordered here in South Florida, makes sense.
Our order is a
SX-P AWD w/ Towing Pkg in Dark Moss w/ Dune Brown Nappa Leather.
*fingers crossed*

FYI dealers can trade other dealers for them! We have purchased two! One we got lucky got same day. The other we got next day. One was out the door at sticker, and one was $500 over (promo is $500 less now).If you find the exact one within a few hundred miles go ask dealership GM if they would be willing to trade for it!

Update:
Still not here unfortunately, but we are in no rush.
We did see in the spreadsheet posted by Michelw in the "Kia Telluride US production stats. by trim and colors" forum a VIN creation date of 9/18/2019 for what seemed to be our exact vehicle allocated to our dealer (https://www.kia.com/us/services/en/windowsticker/load/5XYP5DHCXLG047671) , which led me to believe I would get a call from the dealer soon. Well, early this week the dealer called saying that the car would be here in 1-2 weeks max!

If it is this exact VIN I see in this window sticker, I hope they don't expect me to pay for those accessories that I did not order (floor mats, interior lighting and illuminated scuff plates). But lets see how it goes, I'll be posting more updates and pics as we get any news.

Just got off the phone with the dealer and was told that the vehicle will be here before Thanksgiving. She did mention something that caught my attention: She said that our Telluride was coming from Korea, as Kia is experiencing "some issues" at the Alabama plant so they shifted production to Korea as well.

Anyone heard of this before?

As I have not heard of this and was under the impression that Tellurides are solely made in Georgia, I thought I'd ask here and see what you guys have heard? I would assume the only "issues" that Kia is having right now at the Alabama plant is perhaps the unexpected high demand for this vehicle that would cause them to extend production also to Korea (?)

Either way, we are very excited and cant wait to take delivery!

I question KIA could and would turn on a dime to start making Tellurides in Korea and shipping them here. I would think that would be logistically and cost prohibitive. But then again, Kia is currently "awash" in Telluride orders and has to do something before folks start to consider walking away from those $500 deposit in favor of something else..

I guess they would have to change their slogan “ Made in America for America”...... Most of the time!

I have not read any reports of this. Time will tell though, your Window sticker will tell you. If Georgia is crossed out in Sharpie and Korea was hand written in I would say something was up! ;)

My dealer sales manager tried to tell me that the windows don't come tinted from the factory... justifying their charge. Then, when I had all windows tinted there - he told me it would take longer because they had to take off the other tint. I said it's privacy glass... so no it ain't coming off. Point is the dealerships make stuff up all the time to string consumers along. Many of them are full of it.

We are actually assembling units at Muncie Global Headquarters. Who wants one?

Ha! I'll take one Jason... I put an order in at a local dealer @ MSRP, but now I hear I can take advantage of the Costco Auto program at your dealership. Unfortunately, there are no dealership local to me (NJ) that are participating at this time. How does the delivery of the vehicle work for out of state customers?

NJ is a hot bed for us. Is the Mafia in charge of Telluride pricing? You can fly in and drive home or we can ship it to you.
