• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... KIA Telluride vs Hyundai Palisade Quality

🤖 AI Summary

No AI summary has been generated for this thread yet.
The West Point Kia plant is much newer (2009) but smaller than Ulsan Hyundai campus. Lots of parts for Kia originate from Korean suppliers though.

Is that the only Kia plant in America?

There’s also a plant in Mexico which is part of the Americas. The West Point is the only plant in the US.

The MX plant in Monterrey also cost a billion dollars but it’s 7 year newer than West Point.

The engine and transmission for both vehicles is made in Korea. As are several other important parts. West Point simply assembles. They used to make engines but that didn’t work out great.

As a Georgian I think that the West Point Plant will produce a better product.

I live in Ohio and would much rather have a Georgia produced vehicle vs Korean. Too bad I like the Korean built pallaside better :(

My wife used to work at Volkswagen as a service writer. The build process is very important. VWs that were built in Mexico had a much higher rate of service issues than those built in Germany. The major components came from Germany...

My cousin works in Mercedes factory there and they pretty much work in scrubs, quality control is unbeatable. What I want to say is when you pay your people fair amount and give them best working environment with benefits, product has to be top quality. Can’t have someone working on delicate parts of the jobs while they’re thinking how to feed their kids.
