2020 Hyundai Palisade earns IIHS TSP+ award, doing what the Telluride couldn't

The Hyundai Palisade has officially earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS, which is something its Kia Telluride platform matewasn’t able to accomplish.


If you’re looking for weaknesses in the Palisade’s scorecard you’ll be hard-pressed to find them. One of the only categories without a “Good” rating is the LATCH ease of use, where the IIHS gave Hyundai an “Acceptable” score. The only other vehicle in the Palisade’s class that received a TSP+ award for its current model is the Subaru Ascent.

We knew the Hyundai would be faring well in IIHS testing after seeing the Telluride return favorable scores, but the Palisade has now surpassed its Kia platform mate in one key area of safety.

Only difference.....The headlights!

I ordered a Palisade for my wife after considering the Telluride, but all things being equal this (IIHS TSP+ rating) would not have been a reason to choose one over the other. Remember we are only talking about the headlights. Both are great vehicles.

Her 1st choice was the Telluride SX AWD-P until the frenzy began on the Kia.

I saw a White Pallisade yesterday and it was BeeeYoutiful !! I think it has a very progressive modern look vs the retro look of the Telly ..................I like it a lot !
