• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... One thing we found by accident that the reviewer failed to mention. The Telluride may not have auto recline 3rd row seats, but the 3rd row does recline manually with the pull strap.

Thank you jw_tx21. I appreciate your detailed answer. The destination is about the same on both (1095).

Doesn't look like Kia has that particular (1500 off) rebate at the moment.

To be honest, I don't think that either of these are negotiable very much with the dealers who are both charging MSRP (plus any incentives).

Wow, your SXP was 45,500?? Amazing!! My quoted SX itself is close to 46K!! (SX is 41,490 + floor mats + cargo net + Texas sales tax + TL).

Of course, there 1 grand off this at the moment, but by the time mine comes in, who knows what the rebates/incentives will be like then?

I was quoting final car price before taxes and fees but after rebates because trade ins will affect tax. I wasn't quoting OTD price.

Palisade price is definitely negotiable if its on a dealer lot and unsold. Call around, search online. Some people reported several thousand discount in Florida. Difference between Palisade and Telluride is that the former is on lots and in stock.

Telluride has power folding mirrors and that is huge for me because getting into garage actually an option with that feature. I also like that they retract when locked to prevent some ding dong hitting them.

Hello again, where have you heard of Palisade being in stock? Any particular places? Here in the Dallas area, they are sold before they hit the showroom, so it’s hard to even get on for a test drive. Best I’ve been able to do is peek into one that was already sold.

thanks again!

I don't know in your specific area but over here getting a palisade is easy as long as you're not looking for a Limited, whereas there are 0 tellurides regardless of trim. Usually the top of the line of each model is sold before it arrives. People can also custom order Tellurides whereas Palisade from what I've been told cannot be ordered (other than have a dealer trade the one you want with one they've got, for a fee).

Just last week I passed by both kia and hyundai on my way and kia had 0 tellurides and hyundai had 5 Palisade, most SEL, non limited.

Different areas, different days...it all depends

Where did you hear "Palisade …….. cannot be ordered"?

4 different Hyundai dealers in the area. They all said it couldn't be ordered, the one that said it could be ordered, then ended up just referring to that they can search for one matching my needs and if they find one, they can have it shipped from the other dealer; but 1) no dealers have it in stock, and 2) at a cost, and the dealer said that they can only do that if they have a vehicle the other dealer wants.

I'm not saying it's the truth, I'm saying this is what I was told. When I went to Kia they told me I could custom order and told me the time it would take to arrive (approx), and even told me of all the vehicles incoming within the next x weeks.

This is exactly what I have heard from three different Hyundai dealers in the Dallas area — no orders are being accepted. Can place a deposit on the ones that they have coming into their dealership. They don’t have any Limiteds that are unclaimed by the time they get to dealerships, as someone has put down a deposit and done paperwork by then.
With Kia, you can custom order, but it comes when it comes (anywhere from 2-6 months I was told).

I was told the opposite here in Dallas area. The Kia dealer told me that they can not custom order the vehicle, the best he can do is try to find one that matches closest in my area and have it shipped (for a fee) to his dealership or I go pick it up myself.......weird.

You can definitely order a Telluride. Check with Huffines Kia dealerships in Dallas area. As for Palisade, likely can't order at this time because they are imported and Hyundai is allocating to dealerships based on their schedule. In a few months, that may change. Dealers will always want to sell what they have coming into dealership first - so they don't have unsold inventory to floorplan. So, they'll try to talk you into something that's "incoming" with a VIN and an estimated delivery date.

I second the Huffines suggestion. The folks at Huffines Kia Corinth are simply fantastic!

We sell both. Let me know if we can help.

That is a false statement. You can order whatever you want. Let's do this! I want cookies.

Never saw email unless I missed it. jfox@kiaofmuncie.com

Just saw this thread. I went with Telluride and didn't shop the Pally. I like that they Telluride is USA finished (in Georgia). My understanding is that the Pally is South Korea built all through. I've had my share of foreign built cars and make no judgments. But all things being fairly close to a draw, I just figured I may as well go American.
