• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Finding the strengths of the Telluride is easy for potential buyers. But weaknesses usually become apparent only after owning a vehicle for a while.

So, what things bug you most about your Telluride?

Wish the steering wheel would extend out farther (my arms are short compared to my torso lol)

Telluride is a great vehicle.
things i would change:
1. lighted homelink (garage door open/close) buttons on the rear view mirror.
2. push button open/close on all four doors...not just the front doors.
3. foot activated tailgate open/close.

No Auto start on keyfob

Homelink on mirror- have to adjust mirror every few days because I apparently push the buttons too hard

engine braking in certain gears- I’m a coaster so this annoys me a bit, have gotten used to it.

warp drive sticks sometimes and it’s hard to pull up in the middle of the Malstrom.

really all petty stuff, really still love it as much As I did when I bought it now 5k and 3 months in. :)

I know two :

1. Have to turn auto-start off every freakin time you get in. That is freaking annoying
2. No foot activated tailgate.
3. No lock button beside the close button to lock and close tailgate at same time, my bmw had it.
4. Navigation and menu navigating is quite complex
That’s it right now thanks

EX:

1. Headlights
2. Reverse Lights
3. No homelink
4. No Widescreen Android Auto
5. No dimming side mirrors

These are all nit-picks though and aside from 4 and 5 you can correct them.
How do you plan on addressing the headlights?

Terrible FM Radio reception
seat belts embedded in second row (hard to get a carseat buckled)
no seat memory (EX)

I put HID kits in my EX. $89. Spectacular!
Aren't the results limited by the design of the non HID housing? Do you notice a longer throw of the beam? What model lights did you go with?

I went with a pair of retrofit LED's. Seems the debate about which kits are the best is still ongoing in other threads but I decided to give the V.4 from Headlight Revolution a try and have been happy so far after a few days of using them. LED Headlight Bulbs - V.4 LED Headlight Bulbs - Headlight Revolution

The pattern is almost identical to stock but throws much further and is much brighter. Also I was very concerned about the brighter lights messing with other drivers but I have not gotten flashed and can see the cutoff line is below the eyes and mirrors of oncoming vehicles and those directly in front of me as well. The real test will be when I get out on the highway at night which is when I really noticed the weakness in stock but based on my around town drives I can already tell I will be much happier.

As a side note, these bulbs do have external drivers however there was plenty of room in the headlight housing for me to fit the external driver in there behind the dust cap. My only issue with them is that the harness clip on the stock wiring did not quite fit so that is currently not clipped tight. I was working with limited time when I installed them so I plan to take a closer look sometime soon.

Works great. Probably 5-10 times brighter. Existing projector housing works fine. I did need to tweak up/down alignment, bit that's a simple 12mm bolt turn. Please see info here: EX HID Xenon headlight replacement

After about 6 weeks and a thousand miles, my only complaints are:
  • Lack of full-screen rendering of Android Auto.
  • Lane departure warnings and lane-keeping assistance are a bit more aggressive than I'd like. But this is my first car with these features, so I can't speak to Kia's implementation of these features as compared to other manufacturers.
  • Rear seat occupant reminder goes off after almost every drive, even if I hadn't opened the back door and nobody was in the back seat. I think the installed infant seat base was causing this. I've finally turned this feature off.

One thing and one thing only for me: can’t lock the freaking doors from the outside while the car is running except from the app. Drives me nuts when I want to just hop out at the store real quick!

That's pretty common on cars with radio keys and push button starts for some reason. I don't know why - same issue with my Mazda. What I do is roll down driver's window, exit car, shut driver door, reach in and lock, and then roll up window with auto-up. But, if I do that (now have a locked car running), I must use the physical key to unlock the driver door. I believe the Telluride operates the same way - just ensure that you know how to use the manual key to open the door - I haven't tried yet.
