Hi, new to the forum!

Just purchased a SX trim AWD this past weekend, and I’m going over the quirks!

Our main, pressing issue is the fact that the seat belt female connectors are very narrowly placed and do not move at all. This is making it incredibly difficult for my 8.5 year old to get buckled up with her booster seat in the 2nd row (bench seat, not captains chairs). It is also kind of aggravating that the 2nd row seat belt height is not adjustable.

Does anyone have any solutions or know where I can at least get compatible seat belt extenders?

Thanks!!

I just bought a Rigid 3” type seatbelt extender specific to the Telluride from:

I have the same issue as you. My kid doesn't have the dexterity to plug the seatbelt in while having a booster seat in the 2nd row.

I’ll try to remember to take pictures when I get it in the mail.

Thank you! I didn’t know the best place to look, and as this is a new model, didn’t know if there was even a compatible one available.

Yep! I mentioned this in my 'issues' post a while back. It's so strange that there's not just like 3 more inches of slack! And, they are really close to the width of the booster/car seat so the seat covers it. Kinda a bummer, but i was going to try something like THIS but I don't know if it fits.

When I get the buckle I’ll post a picture of it and a link to the site in the thread I am in.

As stated: it‘s pretty clean, has safety codes, on one sideand functions pretty easily.

(In my Rod Roddy voice) And now my son can easily secure the seatbelt... IN THIS BRAND NEW CAR!!!

This is an old post so I don’t know if you all will read this but...was scrolling through and thought this was a great idea for my daughter‘s booster, same issues. Thought I’d let you know, I quickly did a Google search and saw belt extenders should not be used on boosters. Major safety issue! Totally not my business but I thought I’d put it out there. I have found pushing the booster over toward the window helps.

Also, ideally you will be using a booster seat that has LATCH connections. Loosen the LATCH connections if needed to move the booster seat away from the buckle. Buckle the seatbelt, and then re-tighten the LATCH connections.

Same here that buckle with boosters is the worst. My.kid has trouble buckling herself! That was what brought me to this forum too!

I know this thread is a bit old, but we just got our Telluride this week. I installed a booster for my 6 year old, but she can’t get herself buckled.

As an example, not even my wife or mother in law could insert the buckle. I moved the seat towards the window and it still took quite a bit of effort to buckle her. We have had several cars with car seats, and this has never been an issue (i.e, she is able to buckle herself). I want to love this car, but this might be a deal breaker.

Given that seat belt extenders are NOT safe for car seats, anyone have any ideas?

It’s not graceful but it looks like it works.

I also read that seatbelt extenders were not safe to use with booster seats. Any other suggestions?
