If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just picked up my SXP with Tow Package last night. Black on Black. I bought Emblems need to install. Saturday front windows will be tinted. Looking for a ceramic coating company in the Rancho Cucamonga area. I would like to have Auto Start from Kfob installed, still looking. Now I need to find an Extended Warranty for the Telly also.

This Forum has been very helpful, Thank you!

Thanks to Jesse (888) 480-0418 at All Star Kia San Bernardino. Sold it to me at MSRP. No hard sale and no B.S.

Congrats on the ride. Looks great!

Why do you need an extended warranty beyond what Kia already offers? The std. warranty seems like it would cover most major/expensive issues?

A lot of electronics.

I see you got the new “Hedgelights”.

Check with Jason Fox here on the forum from Kia of Muncie, he has the Platinum warranty for under $1500. A lot of people here, including me, have bought their extended warranty from him

A lot of electronics.
Good reason!

Just make sure those components are covered in the warranty.

That's right- I will do
Thanks

Any details on the Platinum warranty and what it covers? I this a Kia or 3rd party Warranty?

Looks great!! The extended warranty needs a "hard study".....from all that I can find, the electronics that control all the "driver assist functions" as well as the main computer and all the sensors, etc are covered under the 5/60 original warranty (the best in the industry).....the "infotainment screen "and audio system are covered ONLY for 3/36. This vehicle IS heavily loaded with electronics, but 5ys or 60K miles IS a long time and nothing beats the 10yr/100k powertrain warranty.....so, for me at least, it sounds like the only extended warranty benefit is that it brings the infotainment and audio system in line for a "longer ride"..................if I needed to do that for all of the other electronics onboard, then I would do so but apparently that is not the case and I don't think a $1400 or more for the infotainment stuff is worth it.

Here is the one Jason is selling. It's from Fidelity, it appears to be third party.
What you think?

As the downloaded document says, "see the attached files for specific details"....well, we don't have those "specific details" and that is absolutely necessary before buying any extended warranty. Also, given the extent of the Kia warranty ( probably the best of any manufacturer ) is it REALLY necessary to buy an extended warranty? The plan Jason is offering does sound good ( assuming the details "fit") but what it does is EXTEND the basic factory warranty beyond 5/60.....are any of us going to keep the vehicle beyond the original 5/60? And, I am assuming.....the Jason plan extends the "audio/entertainment/naviigation" from the factory 3/36 which MIGHT be a good idea, but is it worth 1400 bucks? It does appear that all the high tech driver assist functions, sensors, chip boards, etc. ARE covered under the original 5/60. It would appear that the "audio/nav" stuff would be the earliest opportunity to get any benefit from a 1400 investment.....if that type of equipment is going to fail, it usually does within the first year of operation. I think I could find something better to do with the 1400. Just my opinion after many car purchases in the past 51 years:cool:

Blitt,

Thanks for your feedback-Much appreciated.
You make a lot of good points. I think it is a insurance policy that I hope I never have to use.

If you’re keeping it more than 3, then a good extended plan can pay for itself with a single claim. Gamble or buy insurance. I keep my cars for a long time, so I’m gonna cover my heinie with a little extra insurance. It’s a personal preference, also after many, many, many car purchases...
