• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Does anyone know if the heated and ventilated seats on the SX trim are only manually controlled, or are they controlled by the HVAC system. By this I mean, do you have to manually turn them on everytime you start the car, or if "on" will it be automatic?

By your definition, manual. You just set them every time you get in.

I saw one video review that on the SX if you crank the heat way up it automatically turned on the heated seats and steering wheel. EX doesn't do that for me.

Fascinating

My lexus and srt charger were auto.

However, they didn't cool for poo. These Telluride cooling seats blow hard and cold. Very nice!

So automatic means the seats blow cool air when the air conditioning is on, automatically, and warm air when the heat is on?

I have noticed several times when getting in to the vehicle that the ventilated seats are on and I have to turn it off. Therefore, I am assuming that the seats come o9n automatically based on the settings of the A/C system but only an assumption at this point as I have not had time to test this theory properly.

That's the typical MO of well designed systems, My current vehicles heated seats and wheel come on when started or remote started below 40F and cooled seats above 80F, but just the drivers seat only...
Would be great it the Telly worked the same way...

I myself would prefer manually.. I rarely use the heated seats and only use the cooled seats on really hot days. I would rather turn them on myself when wanted and not have to turn them off when not wanted. This is a personal preference of mine.

There is a setting to enable it to come on automatically. I believe heat or cool is selected based on outside temp. I do not think it retains last setting used.

As stated in an earlier post in setup you can automate the heated and cooled seats to come on automatically based on weather conditions. You can also use your UVO application to turn on/off seats.

I believe it recycles your cabin air. It can be manual. My father has the Palisade and it it manual. I have the Tully S model and was advised by a Kia technician that it was in the seats. I’m looking to see of the blower is available later to add this to my S as it does not come with AC seats. Possibly retro fitting a blower from another model car.

If everyone is thinking the same, then nobody is thinking.

I doubt the foam and seat springs support air being blown through them.

This is for 2017-2018 Kia Sedona Blower Motor 88550-A9011. Note that part number 31 is the blower. Part 30 looks to be the air duck that goes up the seats. Part
32 looks like it could be an adapter that connect to the lower air ducks. The 2007 Kia Sorento blower resistor location was under the glove. In addition, the switch for the S does not let you click down. So a new button will need to be purchased as well. If you have taken part a seat before you will know that this would be very easy DYI once we find out what components are needed.

I have yet to find wiring diagram, but I did post the Fuse Box for the engine bay and the interior on the technology section.

Another route would be 3D printing a Y connector to just daisy chain from the floor air vent. Then the controls would be from the AC floor vent. Again all possible options. But if a repair shop can fix things like this why can't I? It's a new car and finding it hard to find parts list online. Its just a matter of time. If there is a will there is a way.

My fathers Palisade, AC seats are separate from the AC controller for the car. The engine bay looks exactly the same as the Tully. I just ceramic coated the plastic trim in the engine bay on both of these cars.

Also most manufactures don't make new architecture to remove functionality. They just don't supply the parts or lock it down. This would be to costly to manufacture. Look at what Apple does with there processors for iPad Pro and iPhones. They are usually under clocking and over clocking their same processors for different price points. But the architecture is still the same. Intel does the same by locking down the CPUs. I have even seen Dell do this to one of their server models not advertising some slots on the board, they just need to snip off the plastic and walls you got a more expensive workstation. I'm waiting to see what parts will be available as things will break on a vehicle.
