This has almost become a daily occurrence. I'm guessing dealers months ago never thought we'd have these issues of getting vehicles. Now it's so crazy that the dishonest dealers have a major issue on hand. Us guys that ordered vehicles for customers be like.... 😎👌👍🏄‍♂️

Kia Consumer affairs did NOTHING when I was on the phone complaining about my issue today. They even had the nerve to tell me, “i understand you are frustrated, but imagine how it feels to be the dealership who can’t get any allocations”. For reals. You want me to feel bad for the dealership?! “There’s nothing we can do, these dealerships are independent of Kia” blah blah blah. 🙄

late in the game my wife changed her mind and now wants a Telly SXL with Napa , the lease on our Sorento is up in a month ...............long story short NFW can they get us a Telly without a factory order .............I reached out to 2 other big dealers , one came back with > Yes we have located one and can get it in a day or 2 ..........sure ! I asked for the VIN , pricing and quoted the trade value and upgrades my dealer was prepared to throw into the deal ..........................havent heard a peep from the the other guy ..................BS ...................I think we will grab a loaded Sportage for 2 years then order excactly what we want then , dealer is willing to forego the balance of a 33 month lease at 24 months .............good guys !!

Yea I called a few weeks ago to try and get an update on my order (which apparently didn’t exist) and they were worthless. Told me they couldn’t help me and that it was just a waiting game.

I’m glad there are still a few dealerships out there that are trustworthy. Wish my dealership all the way down here in Oklahoma was one of them 🙄

10 weeks and still no ETA. My dealer says there is no order confirmation number. Says "Its all in our database for all the KIA stores"?

You will have an order ID number very accessible from the dealer. If dealer can't pull that up... You have no order.
 
We called and got a copy of our request ID for our SXP ordered back in August. Do you know if the numbers in the ID correspond to the date that the vehicle was ordered?


They do. It should be dealer code + ID. So If you ordered a Telluride from a dealership in NY on Monday 11/11/19, it would be something like this: NY123 - 191111J001. The ID is DATE + VEH CODE (J= Telly) + PRIORITY (001 in this case).

So my husband called our salesman (who also happens to be our neighbor) and the salesman asked his manager about it. Manager says that’s not what those numbers represent (YEA RIGHT). But conveniently, the manager says he has some coming in faster than his orders and that he sees one that looks like it matches our order exactly. We just have to wait until it shows up and see if it’s it.

Yep. The manager is trying to say that isn’t the case. He obviously thinks I’m stupid. But he has now told us that he sees one coming in that matches our order specifications and we just have to wait for it to show up and see if it’s it. Likely story 🙄

Yes mine reads exactly this way, ordered on August 26th, (TX###190826J001)

Yea sounds to me like they called around trying to find one in the area meeting our specifications. Although I can’t believe any dealership would be willing to give one up right now. We shall see if it actually shows.

Found the exact vehicle I ordered and was sold out from under me at a dealership in Colorado Springs, CO (9 hours away from me). Called them and was given the speech about a $5,000 “market adjustment” added to all SX-P’s and $2,000 added to all other models!!! As an economist by profession, I understand that high demand and low supply lead to a higher cost, however, if Jason and the folks in Muncie can take the moral higher ground, why can’t they all? I encouraged the sales manager I spoke to to take a look at this forum and see how people have slammed dealerships with “market adjustments” and then look at how many people have gone with Jason and the good people in Muncie and consider a different business strategy. That was the end of that conversation. I feel sorry for the suckers that have paid the $2-5k “market adjustment”. I’d way rather pay to ship mine from IN. 🙂
