• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Bought the EX 2020 and cant see a darn thing at night inside the cabin!? no mood lighting but the strips are there. only overhead lights that get in the way of the driver. Needs better lower cabin lighting for sure. Dangerous.

I purchased the car for my wife and so far it is very nice, It is a lot cheaper than the big three domestic brands for price you pay vs what you get. I wanted to make sure that everyone understands that it is not over just cause i cant see below the handles of the doors LOL

What so dangerous about a dark interior? Most cars are dark inside at night. Been like that for decades and decades.

It is well known that EX has the LED light strip but it non-functional. The mood-light that does come with SX(P) is said to be dim and it definitely won't light up the foot well.

Are you saying you want the interior light kit as a standard?

That is one thing we noticed though that I'm surprised they missed on. It is much darker than the Sorento or the Stinger is. Both of them had low powered LED lights that were in the console which lit up the cup holder area. The Telluride does not have these. Is it dangerous? No, but it was a nice convenience to have that area lit up

for instance , if your passengers drop something and end up unbuckling themselves to try to find their item. It ends up rolling to the front under a break pedal. Seen plenty of accident reports like that.
It is still a nice car, it just seems like some thought fell short thats all

I don't see how this makes the vehicle "dangerous" 🤨. Could the interior be more well lit with subtle lighting accents, yes? Would most prefer that, most likely. Dollar for dollar is this something that devalues or degrades the car, no.

How exactly does a flush mounted ceiling light get in the way of the driver? The durrrn things turn off when you press the start button.

PSA: when/if Kia drops a turbo option in this bad boy and we buy a second Telly, more interior lighting would be welcomed........but I'm buying it either way😏🤷‍♂️

Sir, this can happen with ANY CAR.

Here is a less than $10 solution for you, and it does disco light as well.

As an FYI don't think that because we have that plastic strip in the door/dash where the mood lights are that we actually have the led lights. Here is a picture I took of the strip inside one of my doors. Notice the round bar is just a clear plastic piece that will distribute the light. So one LED in the door not a strip of LED's. I assume its the same all over the car where you see an "LED strip". The plastic is there but not necessarily the LED light nor the wires to connect an LED.

Try flashlights strapped to your feet. Be sure to use a smaller flashlight on your driving foot for safety reasons. I do this and it lights the crap out of the floor when I am looking for things that I drop while I'm driving. Sorry, just having some fun! 🤷‍♂️

After reading all the "back and forth" on this thread AND having owned 29 previous vehicles over 52yrs, my thought is this......the Telluride is a WONDERFUL car.....is the interior lighting the best I have ever owned ??? No it is not....it could be improved, particularly in the footwell area ( there is none) . On the other hand, there are other features that are far beyond any of the others I have owned.

Yeah, that guy never replied to anything, so he was probably a troll. I like the $10 eBay option!!
