• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I'm seldom in my Telly long enough to make it worthwhile to plug in my phone and connect with Android Auto. But I do keep a music thumb drive plugged in to the data port. BTW, I use a mini-thumb drive that only sticks up about 1/4 inch. So no interference with the wireless charger space and no interference with my wide base coffee mug.

My music thumb drive will be recognized by the system for only a few trips. Then for some reason the system has no knowledge of it. To play my tunes, I need to unplug the thumb drive and
reinsert it. I'm good to go for another couple of trips until the system again loses it.

Two questions, why does recognition of the thumb drive disappear, and can I get it recognized without unplugging the drive?

So far, I have my thumb drive in the slot all the time...I just hit media to activate. So far ...no issue

Whenever it happens to me the media button gives me bluetooth music and I'm unable to switch
to USB music as the drive is not recognized (or sensed?) even though it is still plugged in and was
playing the last time I drove the car. On the media preperence order screen I have it set as USB,
Android Auto, Bluetooth, Apple ???.
