KIA Muncie - What was the time from order to delivery of your Telluride?

Also just want to note this is my personal opinion. Take it as you will. But there is enough tool on this forum that you can follow and generate your own conclusions. I didn’t want to mention before but since topic has come up just wanted to express my thoughts from the dealer side.

For those that have received Telluride's from Kia of Muncie, what was the time between when you placed the order with Jason and when you received the Telluride?
Ordered mine 11/15/19 SXP AWD Black Copper and I’m patiently waiting. Gives me plenty of time as my other car is due to be paid off March 1st.

I should have said some more recent orders have been filled before older. Not that it happens daily but we've seen it and scratch our heads. Only the KIA God's know true rhyme or reason.
Please pray to the KIA gods for my order to be filled sooner rather than later...today I jumped into a complete stranger's car and went for a ride just because he asked me if I wanted to drive it. It's not a practice I'm promoting, something we would all tell our kids not to do but whatever :) I'm not sure he thought I would say yes but I have ordered one (14 days ago) and hadn't even driven one yet so I wasn't passing that up. It was awesome! It was an SX and mine is a Prestige so now he'll be stalking my driveway for mine to come in so I can return the favor and let him drive mine :-) Come on KIA, get your act together and put my order to the head of the line ! Please :)

I appreciate it. I’ve got an order in with Jason. I trust these guys and I am not in a hurry, but just wondering if I am going to get a 2020 or a 2021 Telluride. BAHAHA!

The God's hear you. Keep praying! Hey.... Come to Muncie. I'll pick you up in a base LX. If you close your eyes you can almost see that ambient lighting! Take a deep breath. Do you smell that Nappa Leather? 😂

Man.... I get asked hourly. My thought is KIA has to know what the magic number is for 2020 units. Once they get close they will stop all orders. Then it's probably a we wait till 21 info comes out. This is a complete guesstimate from me but seems logical as well. We will see. We appreciate you being patient.

Yup, I can smell that leather :)

Perfect! Wait won't seem as long. 😎
OK, that's not at all true...that wait is long and it feels like it already :) It's just that it'll be worth it when it gets here that makes it OK :) I am going to have to get more disciplined about jumping into passing Tellurides with strangers though. 166 Days until my countdown calendar gets to 6 months...let's see if we can beat it to the finish line :-)

Lucas showed me Screensaver. Pretty epic! My fav!

Based on what @StephenCantrelle and Jason confirmed above...

I'm a little bit nervous. I have an order with Huffines McKinney since 10/23 (Gravity Grey SX-P/Tow). I know that's a drop in the bucket for the wait. and I'm cool with that. ( Not really :) I'm anxious as heck - but I'm willing to wait for the pay out :) ) ...

but what has me nervous is, I checked the spreadsheet in the other forum post... and I see VERY VERY few Tellurides being shipped to that dealership. When talking to my sales guy there, I believe he said there were about 30 in front of me (this was a few weeks ago).

Being that I don't see hardly any Tellurides getting shipped to that dealership... am I in for a much much longer wait than cancelling that order (which I really would prefer not to do)... and re-ordering with a dealership who actually takes more deliveries?

I wouldn't be too nervous - based on that spreadsheet Huffines McKinney has had a total of 85 allocations - so it would put it in the medium volume dealers - above the median, but below top performers. They are a straight shooting dealership, and they will get the vehicle eventually and honor their price. They also have a better than average allocation for Prestige vehicles - 12 / 85 - or 14.1%. So, that's good for you. Huffines Kia Corinth is a higher volume dealership (143 allocations to date) - the turnaround will be faster there - but the line might be even longer. I'd ask Stephen Cantrelle to look it up in the system in January to see if it's been allocated yet. An October order for SX-P - probably March delivery at this point - at the earliest. Of course they could get one in that someone backs out on. Also talk with Donovan Castillo or Alex Wiederholt at Huffines Corinth - since they are a larger volume store, they may have a sold order back out of sale and they can keep you apprised of that.

Stephen's note below would be okay also - Carrollton is a faster turning dealership also. I once had two deposits... no worries because you can take the first one that arrives. The other dealer will always be able to sell vehicle without an issue. Not the most recommended practice, but got to play the game too.

If you are okay with MSRP and putting a deposit down with me. I can order you one. Like I mentioned to another member on the forum no need to cancel the request you have with them since it is already in.

@jw_tx21 im curious where the Carrollton store is at allocation wise on the spreadsheet. How do we rank? I haven’t been able to open it from my cell.

Through 12/1 VINs, y'all have had 110 allocations - 94 non-prestige, 16 prestige. A prestige percent at 14.5 - which is great - well above median. In terms of number rank nationwide... it would put you around 136th place - out of about 778 or so.

If I were to use a dense rank, then it would put you in 70th place out of 175 (because there are a lot of ties!) I should use prestige pct as a weighting variable. Ha.

I was actually thinking on the way in.. to start yet another thread about how to get your Telluride the fastest. I’m thinking if you fish with more fishing poles your odds go way up.. find the dealers that are high volume no to little deposit and order from 2 or 3 locations. Then sell if you put a deposit to another forum member looking for similar color combo.. just a thought. Like you said technically there isn’t any rules on trying to get the Telluride in the garage ha
