Order to delivery time

@StephenCantrelle I have seen people posting about stores "being in trouble" or not getting as many orders as other stores for one reason or another.

If I look on that spreadsheet on Telluride production I see that my store has 42 Tellurides associated with it between 6-6 and 12-15. Is that a good number? If I look at the other dealership I spoke with in Elgin, IL, their number is in the 80s - but also a much larger inventory lot.

Just trying to see where my dealership might stand.

Based on the information given they are receiving 7 a month.. not a very high number. There are many factors to look at. What did you order? How many of that trim have they received? When did you place your order?

Ordered an AWD SXP Green/Dune Interior.

They've gotten 5 Moss Green. Only two vehicles of any color with the Dune interior. Then I see they have gotten 8 SXP AWD (any color).

I placed on black Friday, so it has only been three weeks. Just trying to plan how to talk with them when asking for information.

Probably all depends on their location and if they are high/low volume and how many are in line ahead of you w/ like trim, colors, etc.

I ordered through the Elgin Kia store. It's prob. moderate volume, but nothing like some of the larger stores. I'm just happy that the numbers look slightly better when looking at # per month they're getting vs. Gary Lang Kia in McHenry. The salesman in McHenry was nice and all, but their policy is to tack on additional dealer markup on every one which I'm not a fan of. Whereas w/ Elgin I was able to get Costco pricing and literally in/out in a few minutes including being able to test drive an SX-P they had on the lot that day (luck I guess) but missing some key things I wanted (and wrong color for me).

Okay so with your size store I would ask them how many orders are waiting in front of you. Or how many orders they have in total. If the answer is say less than 10 I would say your in decent shape. If they say close to 20.. then I would recommend you may want to look at checking with the higher volume store.

I test drove at the Elgin location as well since mine didn't have a SXP to drive and I wanted the full experience. I liked the salesperson, but they were super hesitant to drop the 4k mark up they were giving me until I told them I was closer to home looking in Rockford. Then they dropped in a little bit - but their "lifetime warranty" that they tack on as an expense turned me of as well.

However, Costco pricing? I've seen that few times and i'm not sure what that is.

As far as Gary Lang goes, I had a bad experience there a few years ago so I didn't even look at that location.

Hi
I ordered a dark moss/black SX FWD with only wheel-locks as added option from a houston dealer on 12/16/2019
the agent told me the order was sent to KIA and sent me a doc with just the basic vehicle configuration, no VIN, no order # etc.
On their website I see that the exact same car is shown as available for same MSRP, with a VIN and stock number.
I called and he said that one is presold.
Any idea what may be going on here?
Seems unlikely I picked exact same order configuration as a car on lot, though
he did talk me into adding the wheel locks when I ordered.

Basically if you are a Costco member, no BS pricing up front and no need to haggle price. It's a set rate, though each store prob. can change it and includes destination fees, only allows for std. doc fees to be charged. If/when I get my vehicle it'll be a decent deal under MSRP. Only a few dealers in the country are honoring Costco pricing. I know that Jason at Muncie on here and a few others do. If I didn't have one somewhat local, I'd have prob. ordered w/ Muncie.

So Elgin honored Costco Pricing?

Just got this number from my dealer: (IL036191129J001) said it was the order ID number/request ID. Does this allow me/you to see anything additionally?

If you ordered on 12/16, then it will be a while. The car on the lot is likely pre-sold, and it is likely you picked the same combo as someone else. It'll be a while for your order. Since it's an SX FWD, I'd check in Dealer Inventory Section on the forum - you might find your vehicle in stock up in Dallas.

Could not find the car anywhere (on lots) that was offered at MSRP with no mandatory add-ons

So Elgin honored Costco Pricing?

Yes. Go to Costco website and initiate from there. It'll bounce you to Elgin Kia and they reach out to schedule an appt or whatever. I basically called them and said I'm on the way, be there in 25 min... They said they only take Costco pricing on orders, which I didn't care because that was my plan anyways when I ordered. They gave me a sheet of all the options broken out w/ MSRP and Costco price for each. We checked off which we wanted, then they drafted the order, and then gave them our credit card for a deposit.

Correct

Yes he is telling the truth. Order units takes months to wait on. If that unit was available he would switch it to that one so you wouldn’t have to wait and he can sell a car quicker. So that one must be claimed already. He should be able to provide you with a request ID # that shows order has been placed. It should be at the top of the doc he sent you with the order configuration

No, that reflects the dealer you ordered from, and the date - 11/29. Way too early for info - give it about 3-4 months.

That is the request number. It shows they placed your order on 11/29..

Watch this section:

Stephen Cantrelle has / had two SX FWD models - though not in Dark Moss / Black - he had Dark Moss / Espresso and Black / Butterscotch. Has an SX-P with Black interior. I'd snap up either SX FWD if we didn't already buy an SXP! Maybe a second one in a year or so.

If you're dead set on Moss / Black, keep watching.

Thanks - at least I know that for sure now.

Also just told me only 5 people ahead of me - so I might be in a good spot on their orders.
