Need help! Dealer called to offer AWD SXP arriving in March!

Hello all,

I am new to the forum, what a great community!

I have been looking for SXP AWD in the San Francisco Bay Area. while mark ups are crazy, that trim is selling like hot cakes.

I found a dealer that honors MSRP, however they don’t have the trim I want.

I just got a call from them offering a dark moss/ dune, AWD SXP at MSRP. SUV is arriving in March as it was order for another customer that just cancelled.

what info should I ask for to confirm:

- Kia accepted order, does Kia send dealer any confirmation that they can share with me?
- March delivery is solid?
- at what point do Kia issue VIN?

Anything else I should inquire about?

They'll walk you through process. There's a ton of info on here in the Order to delivery thread or many others in the How to Buy section.

If someone else cancelled, then great for you! The VIN will be assigned when built - likely in Feb if delivered in March to SF.

MSRP sounds great, but make sure they don’t screw you with dealer fees, “mandatory” options or addons. The safest way to do this is to get an out the door price over email.
Don’t go there until you have the price in writing...then you will know exactly what to expect when you arrive at the dealership.

UPDATE:

- I visited the dealership and put $1k refundable deposit -Hilltop Kia in Richmond. They honor MSRP
- they didn’t not add any fees (other than $84 documentation fee)
- they mocked up a few options for financing.. however I will only qualify for incentives available when car arrives

the only strange thing was the fact that they said that did have the window sticker. I used the the google sheet that someone compiled on the forum and I was able to find the VIN and window sticker.

I am a bit surprised that it’s takes over 3 months to ship an SUV from GA to CA

Now the long wait bings!

I spoke to the dealership.. it just happened that the VIN I found on the google spreadsheet is for a different customer who ordered exactly same combo!
