• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Are bench seats big enough for 3 normal size adults? Are captain's chairs more comfortable than the bench style, or no difference?

You answered your own questions. Got to love it when you do that, right? Yes, 3 adults can squeeze into the 2nd row bench - there is plenty of room for vehicles in this size class. And yes, the Captains Chairs are arguably more comfortable for 2nd row passengers - they are bucket seats with armrests. Kind of like flying first class vs economy.

If you need the cargo space (and will leave 3rd row folded down most of the time) or have several young kids, then bench is probably better. If you have older children or will mostly carry adults and don't need the possibility of 8 passengers (Only 3 kids could even attempt to squeeze into 3rd row - not adults), then get Captains Chairs. They are popular these days.

Well you answered my questions a lot better than you thought I had already answered them. Thank you!

jw_tx21, I'm curious about your comment that "if you need the cargo space, ...then bench is probably better." Does the bench provide more cargo space when folded down? I was kinda thinking the opposite - that when folded down the captain chairs have some space between them you can store stuff in.

It is a little cryptic. I was specifically referring to the case when a person needs cargo space most of the time (hauling gear, etc, and would leave 3rd row folded down most of the time). In that case, could still seat 3 passengers in the 2nd row. Just a thought when thinking about tradeoffs on seating vs cargo. Also, get a flat floor with 2nd bench folded down, but that's a specific use case.

Your point is also valid - if you don't need the possibility of 3 passengers in back with cargo, then Captains chairs offer additional space in between.

Probably the best answer out there.........I agree!
