I checked with my dealer, and of the 12 ahead of me, 8 are SX, with 4 of these being Prestige.
My sales rep also shared this article with me, that she said they received this week, telling of how the factory was boosting production of the Telluride to 100,000 for this year.

Five months ago today (8/24/19) I ordered my Gravity Gray SXP with Napa Black seats...and still no car.

I’ve been patient, my dealer had been attentive and kind (even calling to offer me lower model allocations while I wait, to which I politely decline) but I have to admit that without an end in sight my patience is wearing thin.

And after all this time there’s a price hike in my future? i want this car but I’m having a hell of a time not being bitter...

We ordered from the same dealer around the same time. Mine is an SX-P with tow. Ebony black. Due 1/30. VIN on 1/10. Hopefully you have some news soon.

Hah! We ordered 7/30. Original sales person was drake. We decided to check out Edwards Kia after being disappointed with the sales experience at H&H. We liked Drake, and he told us the SX’s were coming in within about 8 weeks. When I told him that H&H told us 12 weeks, he called the corporate Kia rep and verified the 8 week timeframe (no way to verify this, its just what he told me verbally). We figured even if it was indeed 12 weeks, we’d rather deal with Edwards. Well, Drake moved a week or so after we ordered, and handed us off to Doug. Doug has stayed in touch with us and done a good job of communicating for the most part, although he did not notify us when the VIN was assigned. He called last week to say 1/30 is the ETA. The VIN was created 1/10 according to the Kia lookup sheet, and we also have the window sticker. If the 1/30 ETA holds, will be 6 months from order to delivery. Any of this sounds familiar to you?

Sounds like my experience, I ordered form Edwards in Oct after H&H left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Original salesman has moved on but they still provide me updates when I ask. Hopefully Feb or Mar but who knows..

I’m in the same boat as you. Ordered a gravity gray SXP gray leather and still no delivery date. Trying to be patient.

Sounds familiar. I bought my current Kia (2014 Sportage) from H&H, and after their smarmy dishonesty left a bad taste in my mouth I vowed never to buy another car from them. EVER.

So when I was immediately smitten by a Telluride that drove by me in the wild last August (ebony black, BTW, and gorgeous!), I went directly to Edwards. Met my salesman Steve during his first week on the job, and 5 days later came back to place my order. Was given a window of 12-16 weeks, but assured that it wasn't usually taking that long.

Steve called a few days later to tell me my order was accepted...and the wait began. He’s checked in and apologized for the wait, thanked me for my patience, etc.

Hearing that you’re near the finish line at 6 months helps me believe the end is near...

A July order yet to be delivered? Yowza. I guess at least you have an ETA and a VIN that was created.

Called the dealer today. They have a VIN and ETA of 2/11. So that will put it just shy of 6-1/2 months for anyone else with a similar order date. Thanks for the help.

Well, took the VIN the dealer gave me and looked up the window sticker. We that was a real kick in the shorts. We "ordered" an SX-P, Dark Moss, Black Nappa Leather. Turns out they ordered an SX no Prestige, Dark Moss with Butterscotch seats.

The whole reason why we ordered it was for the Prestige package. All throughout the 6 months of waiting, we kept asking if it was a Prestige package and they kept reaffirming that it was. My only hope is that they gave me the wrong VIN. Can anyone tie 5XYP5DHCXLG073736 to the order # IA006-190726J004, just to confirm they aren't trying to switch one out on us.

Sorry to hear this. Let’s hope the telluride is worth all the hassle. As I walked through the omaha auto show today, I didn’t see any other SUV that appealed to me as much, and it seems every piece of press has also been positive. Car and Driver has a long term tester now too, and they are also writing positive things. Hang in there. With the bump in production, maybe that’ll speed things up. Good luck.

Charlie O'Baugh Kia has had 33 total Telluride allocations through 1/13/2020. They are a very small dealership. Of those 33, they've only had 4 Prestige- they have been averaging 1 Prestige allocated to them per month since September. So, your question to them should be how many Prestige orders are in front of you? In total, they get allocated anywhere from 2-4 Tellurides per month - but they won't all be Prestige. Hopefully many of those 12 orders in front of you aren't Prestige...

I would also watch the dealer inventory section - people back out of Prestige vehicles all the time for various reasons (it is 6 months after their order...). Other than that, you can search to find good dealerships in the VA area from other members if you want to order from a higher volume dealership.

I hope it’s just a simple VIN mix up!! What’s the word on the dealership, r they shady? Could they possibly be trying to sell you something other than what they actually ordered for you?

I'm guessing this above... they had someone back out or had an inventory car they ordered coming. Since your order was so long ago they're saying this is it. Figuring you will give up and just take it. Then they may still have your prestige coming, and want to tack on a $10k set of BS add-ons and sell it to someone else.

Either that or they are just that incompetent.
