Order to delivery time

When they have a vin are they finished? How long does shipping delivery take? I’m in Minnesota.

I'm in Minnesota. We just had a VIN get created on 1/25 and the ETA is 2/29. I'm sure it's different ETA depending where in the county the dealership is located.

I got lucky on an unallocated SXP in the color scheme I wanted with the right packages (plus a couple of factory options I didn't want, but oh well). Mine was built on the 17th, painted on the 18th, and I got the VIN a couple days later. It had an ETA of February 4th, but arrived at the dealership in Indianapolis on the 24th or 25th. Picked it up yesterday.

He ordered on 8/28 I believe (if my memory works). I'm 11/20. Believe both of us are waiting on SXP's. Ask them for the order number. It should be something along the lines of IL072YYMMDDJ001 or something along those lines. BTW IL072 is the Elgin dealer code, not IL074. Also ask and see if you can get how many SXP orders are ahead of you (I've not been lucky with getting a straight answer, but what the hell...give it a shot and let us know).

They told me 4-5 months, but expect late March (so roughly 4 months from when I ordered in Nov). Yeah that ain't happening. Based on the VIN lookup site and spreadsheets it looks like they now have 8 VIN's created in Jan. 0 of which are SXP. Better than the other day when only 4 were showing as being produced thus far in Jan.

@Ericlittle200 ordered a few weeks before mine and his car is finally coming this week, so I’m hopeful mine is being built any day now...

I watched my order being keyed into the system back in August. Chose my options right on the screen, approved all the specs before he hit the final button with a flourish. My salesman called a few days later to tell me my order was accepted. If the order WASN’T placed, they are certainly putting on a good show...

I ordered a Gravity Gray SX-P with Napa black interior. Which is apparently a combination Kia is allergic to!!

I think it's all related to whatever your dealer has allocations for at a trim level. Unfortunately for us, our dealers don't have enough.

I hope the Kia Gods don’t take this the wrong way, but the whole weighted allocation distribution model is dumb. And maddening.

(Am I scared my college Econ prof is somehow going to see this and give me a stern lecture on supply and demand? A little. But I’m not taking it back...)

Just looked at the lookup tool and see an SXP just added for Elgin (unfortunately not White...it's grey/grey w/ tow). So hopefully we see a White/Dune w/ tow next.

I'm so obsessed that I check that darn list every half hour. I get depressed when it shows no new adds. I get suicidal when no snow white dune SX-P are listed.

Yeah that VIN tool is a blessing and a curse at the same time. I was going nutso when it showed only 3 for most of the month. Now it looks like 8 on the tool / 9 for the month. They were getting 2 SXP and about 15/month overall when I ordered... now it seems less. Hopefully #s continue to go up the last few days of the month.

The VIN lookup tool now shows my car has a VIN! @StephenCantrelle, I ordered this from one of the Moritz dealerships in Fort Worth. Considering you are from the metroplex, what's the average time you have seen for a car to have a VIN to the car showing up at the dealership for pickup?

Less than a month.. no hiccups probably close to 2 weeks.. next step is Transit Tending status and then In transit.. once it is in Transit it’s like Christmas Eve... 24-48 hours away

Congratulations on receiving your VIN, we got ours on 01/29, too! Now begins the hardest waiting period... so close and yet so far. We have to go to Houston to pick ours up.

Is there a way to find out how many telluride a dealership in Canada is getting? I Ordered a white SXL, this is the Canadian version of SXP on December 27, 2019. The dealer is Longman's Makrham Kia located in Markham Ontario Canada. I called yesterday and asked for an update, they said they got an earlier ETA for January 31, 2020. Is this accurate?

1 month wait seems too good to be true.

Hi Frtizsolis, Are you located in Canada or USA. Just curious to know if you are in USA and buying car from Canada. If yes, then I would like to get more details about total cost , additional import duty and any other considerations .

Ours didn’t show up today. ETA was for today 1/30. Dealer says status is now “dealer stock.” Not in transit. Any ideas?
