Factory Orders Canceled?

I had a dealer place a factory order on Nov. 6. Was just informed that order will not be filled and, as such, no purchase.
Curious to know if anyone has had similar experiences and/or has insights on just what is going on with the vehicle.

My specs were for an SX Prestige package - Dark Moss / Dune Brown interior.
 
What dealer? There has been talk around here about some dealers abusing the ordering system and having their orders canceled as punishment, and unfortunately that affects the customer who placed the order as well.
 
This is interesting. Did you have a confirmed order number from KIA?

As to confirmed order number - I believe so - but I'm not 100% sure on whether that is a number supplied by dealer or Kia would have transmitted information.

I purchased my Telluride from this dealership this month. In addition to over-paying (which was ultimately my choice)... I had several other issues for which I was lied to repeatedly by various people in the "finance" department. I would try to find a different dealership, although I've heard many horror stories about most of the dealerships in this area unfortunately.
 
Not liking this.... Napleton has my order at their Elgin store. Sounds like it's true on what was reported about a week ago in that shady dealers that weren't filling orders properly are going to be getting their orders cancelled.

I can't speak to any other dealers but I would get on the horn with them and get the straight story. I'm curious what you find out.
I called another dealer to press for info, trying to get to Kia directly. I was not able to tease out an actual contact number (only 800-333-4542 (which i believe is just a general number) but the regional sales manager is Patrick J. Stitch ("PJ" Stitch). It would seem to be that instead of going to dealers (a feudal system) that some Kia reps with solid info would be helpful.

I'll see what I can find out from the dealer. My order if it ever gets fulfilled was a heck of a deal as a Costco deal well under MSRP. I have been getting the run around when asking how many SXP are ahead of me, they claim they don't know exactly (total BS). I know that there is a few of us out here waiting. One guy has an Aug. order that I don't believe he's heard anything about.

Had 29 orders last night in system unfilled this morning have 13.

is this something to be concerned about..
Kinda hard to answer this one as it depends on how organized the store you ordered from is.

luckily my location has one person who places all orders and is super organized. So all orders that disappeared had a backup on a spreadsheet.

we will simply reenter the dropped orders and keep everyone in the same rotation they were already in.

As long as Kia is moving forward with the KFOS system we will get allocated “X” amount of Tellurides for each trim and will fill them with our order units in the order that they were placed.

so speaking for my store and my clients here.

All is still good.

Ouch... sounds like you guys are at least on top of it trying to take care of it. Many of the others will just say too bad so sad.

Many others unfortunately won’t even notice.
Or think Kia is done taking orders. Just put another fresh order in this morning so Kia is still accepting orders. We will keep doing so until the function is no longer available and between the 3/4 dealers on here, this forum will be first to know.

I may place an order for a GV80 as a backup and see which one gets here first. You can now reserve a GV80 on the Genesis website.

Only thing I go buy is KIA said they would cut orders if you were not filling sold orders with allocation. Just checked our system and no deletions. 👍 We will still keep an eye on this.

Yup we filled all allocation with order units

We have a pre-owned SX-P Moss / Dune and Tow with around 7,000 miles for $46,995. Let me know if your interested. Located in Minnesota.

Yes @Michelw and @foresterh both have useful tools to see how many Tellurides dealers are getting.. just click on there name and click on there name and go to postings to see there threads
