Factory Orders Canceled?

I figured as much. Wishful thinking. Like everyone else I'm just getting tired of waiting and worried about how much longer mine is actually going to take. Thanks!

Can you drive to Urbana (I'd call first to find out if spoken for and if they sell at MSRP, and when it comes in)? Looks like this VIN was created in Jan. and matches what you said you are looking for (S FWD Silver/Black), but with a few extra options on it.

Ask them for the Order ID from Kia. It will start with MN007 (dealer code) then the order date as 6 digits. If the date isn't correct, then something is wrong. Also, if you ordered in July, then unless you ordered on July 30th, it wouldn't have been possible to order 5 days before you... SXP orders weren't opened until July 25 or so.

June 23rd order and a (maybe) Feb delivery. 8 months to deliver an order. The more I think about the timing of these delays is boggles the mind.

Interesting, no new VIN shows in the lookup tool for MN007. The last VIN for that dealer is 1/29/20. Are they giving you a pre-VIN type order number from Kia?

That is the Pre-VIN number. If you have that, that's good news - but then it should have an ETA. If it has that Pre-VIN number, that's an internal reference number which means it has been factory allocated. Ask for a screenshot of the entry from kdealer - user @Smiley1102 posted an example. The VIN won't be assigned until it's built... and then it's probably a month for it to travel to MN.

Still doesn't make sense for the other delivery - that the guy ordered 5 days before... because orders for SXP couldn't be placed in June.

I have a verified order for an SXP in August 24th from Findlay Kia Las Vegas. I spoke to the manager today as it has been 5 months. I was told maybe 3 more months!! This seems crazy to me. I asked on here before if they were a low volume dealership and I was told no, but I don’t see very many...

At least I was told there is a reference number. I don't have any reason to suspect my salesperson is lying about it. It's a little more comforting though since it sounds a lot less likely my whole order would be cancelled. I just wonder why the ETA would no longer be showing. Would it just indicate that the date is changing or a delay? With an original ETA of 2/23 I would have been expecting a VIN pretty soon.

Urbana is a little far. Plus it's more than I was wanting to spend with all the extra options. That's why I went as basic as I could with add on's and the S really hits the sweet spot for me.

A screenshot or printout such as posted in #49 above would clarify everything. ETA may have been pushed.

I had a dealer place a factory order on Nov. 6. Was just informed that order will not be filled and, as such, no purchase.
Curious to know if anyone has had similar experiences and/or has insights on just what is going on with the vehicle.

My specs were for an SX Prestige package - Dark Moss / Dune Brown interior.

We ordered Jan. 18th. Got a call yesterday that KIA had canceled our order! SX P/T
