• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just yesterday, we noticed that we can't lock the read door on our Telluride. It's only about 5 weeks old. We've searched the owner's manual, and I've googled, but I can't find an answer. FYI, I am saying we can't lock it with teh key fob, and I know of no other way to lock it. The other doors do lock with the fob, just not the rear door. Has anybody else run into this, and if so, did they figure it out? Meaning, is this a feature, or or ... not a feature?

Are you talking about the rear hatch? Lock it with the fob or button on the door handle. When you go to check if the hatch is locked, you can't have the fob on you or it will unlock and open when you press the open button. Without the fob, it will not open, it is locked.

wazslow, I just checked, and I find it is true today. But, up until yesterday, it was different; none of the locked doors, rear hatch, front doors, middle doors, would automatically unclock just because I had the key fob on me. And I tested that multiple times in the first 2 weeks or so after we got the vehicle, because I had had the opposite experience with several rental cars in the past. And I just wanted to know. I guess I should add, my wife dropped her key fob yesterday. I partially came apart, and she managed to get it back together. Later in the day, on a shopping trip, is when the problem came up with the read hatch not locking. And that problem was inconsistent at first. Between my wife and I, we kept chcecking, and sometimes the rear hatch would lock, or stay locked, as the case may be, when we checked it. Other times, it would be unlocked, when we walked back to check. Finally, after she and I tried maybe 20 times, it just flat out would never be locked when we checked it. Sooooooo, I'm wondering if we gotten as far as we can go with this matter ...
Still, I thank wazslow for his/her reply on the matter.

Update: My wife confirmed in theowner's manual, what wazslow told me about the rear door. Thanks again.
