Order to delivery time

Hi all. I ordered my SXP on 1/24/2020. I haven’t heard anything from the dealer yet. My question is, how can you tell if your order is correct on the order sheet? I ordered the Prestige package but it doesn’t say that anywhere on the Dealer Request. There are so many codes its as clear as mud 😂

Awesome! I’m trying to be patient but it’s so hard. Thanks again!

@StephenCantrelle — I ordered my Telluride the second week in December, and there is no ETA yet according to both the dealer, and the complaint I submitted to consumer affairs (basically can't get paper documentation from the dealer that they even ordered the vehicle from the factory). The dealer told me after I called them that there "used to be an ETA, but not anymore". My basic question to you—does this mean that the factory has not accepted the vehicle yet? I would think that almost 3 months later I would at least find out an ETA (even if its another 6 months away!)

Another question, if I ordered from you @ MSRP today, how long (estimated) do you think it would take?

Depends on their allocation and how many people are infront of you.

My concern is the sentence " used to be an ETA but not anymore". That makes me wonder if they know what they are doing.
If you are given an ETA it doesn't go away.. Once the factory accepts your order in KFOS then you are issued an ETA. So if they have no ETA you order may still be in line to enter into KFOS.

As far as ordering from me...

Depends on what trim level you are wanting on the wait time.

They said it was "removed from the list" and they aren't sure whats going on until the factory puts it back on the list.

Supposedly ordered SX prestige with tow package, green moss, nappa brown interior, applique, illuminated scuff plates.

Sounds to me they had their orders wiped by Kia for not ordering the cars correctly. Had a similar scare at my store because Kia failed to mentioned once order gets put into KFOS you have to keep it in Kdealer till the order gets filled.

The only reason we didn’t have a similar situation is because we had everything backed up on separate spreadsheet.

wait time for me on a SX Prestige is about 8 months.. pretty much ordering through me guarantees you a spot on my list for a 2021 at this point and if a 2020 opens up beforehand I am reaching out to my clients with orders first that are similar in color combo

Hi There, I am in the same situation. I ordered my Telluride at the same time and I have had no word on it yet. The dealer said they have to wait for the order to be accepted by KIA. Once accepted it will take approx 12-14 weeks. My order is for a black SXP with Dune Brown..no tow package. This is the strangest system I have ever experienced.

December orders are unlikely to be delivered before June at the earliest (6 months). Let's say end of June. That would mean it would be produced around early or middle of June, which means it needs to go into KFOS during the mid-May allocations. So, no news is fine. I would reach out to your dealer in early May to find out the status and ask when it will go into KFOS - they should know allocations around May 17. And if not May, then it would need to go in mid-June for a mid-July delivery. Orders may have had ETAs in kdealer, but now the ETA wouldn't be assigned until the car is accepted into allocation - with KFOS - that can be 30-90 days out (usually less than 90 days).

If you don't want to wait for your order, use the forum tools (VIN Lookup Website and Production Stats spreadsheet) and find your desired vehicle and buy it. I ordered in April and heard nothing until August. Seems par for the course.

Ok:
on 12/10/2019 I ordered darkmoss/black SX FWD (only option added is wheel locks)
I was given an approx 4-5 month wait
Heard nothing so far so I called dealer today (fort Bend KIA in houston)
He said my car will be at dealership in 1 week, and also gave me VIN # (I could not believe at first)
My question for forum:
He is indicating that I will need to pay the higher new price and dest charge (total increase $375)
even though he had promised at order time (I have the order build receipt from december)
that I would not be subject to increased price.
Does this sound right or should I insist on original price?
Would appreciate the input on this
Thanks

Thank you..so much for the information, I really appreciate it. I started this journey last summer 2019 wanting the SXP and planning to patiently wait. I have been driving the same car a 2004 Lexus 470 LX until that time.
Without any updates on the progress, my patience is being tested. haha. First, the Kia dealer tried to get my order in on his own inventory each month starting back in September, but they were not allocated any SXP's so they ended up going back to submitting a custom order in December. I am still waiting for Kia to accept the order but the info you provided gives me some direction on what to expect. I can be hopeful that it will happen someday. Haha
Thanks again.
-K

Look at the window sticker for that VIN. That will have the MSRP of the vehicle. Since it was built recently (and allocated after 1/3), it will have the higher price. Usually any changes to manufacturer pricing can be passed on to the consumer - even with an order. If you don't want to pay the additional $375, I'm sure they have a line of customers willing to buy it. That's a quick turnaround time for a December order - I'd grab it up now.

I assume this is your window sticker and VIN?

If so, it does indeed show the new pricing ($300 added to base SX charge) and the new destination charge. So, you can insist all you want - you can always walk!

There's a whole thread about the price increase - it was posted on 1/3/2020. Titled "Telluride Pricing Increase 1/3" or something like that.

Now that I reviewed your post history, I think you asked the same question like 3 times and gotten the same answer. Why do you waste time asking for repeat confirmation? You got an answer from an Authorized Dealer too.. and someone else referenced the window sticker before.

BTW - you mentioned in a prior post - if you want to back out of the sale over the nominal increase - but you had a non-refundable deposit - you're right - your deposit should be refunded if the terms of the deal changed - usually a price increase would give you leeway to ask for your deposit back. I'm sure Fort Bend Kia will gladly refund you without issue!

Actually I asked the question because my vin decode showed the previous msrp and dest charge

What is a VIN decoder? Some random third party website that tells you what the digits of the VIN mean? The only official VIN decoder we have is Kia's window sticker site. Did I post the correct VIN above? If so, the window sticker PDF shows the updated price. This vehicle was likely put into KFOS around 2/17-2/19. That means it would have the new pricing. We've discussed this at length in the forum.

@jw_tx21 — I think it depends on how the transaction goes. If the dealership has been a pain in the butt and has lied non-stop during the transaction, you would think that they wouldn't change the terms of the agreement—but then again, the dealers I've dealt with just care about $$ and not about their reputation or doing the right thing. For example, my dealer told me "3-4 months MAX"...based on what you said, it'll probably be 7 months. If they told me 7 months wait back in December, I would have thanked them for their time and bought an X5 to get this process over with.

The wait time is up to 8 months for a prestige model?! This is up from the six months you quoted back in January when I ordered. Have you all had that much demand since then? This is shocking. Good for you and for KIA...but wow...8 months. Curious from you and other dealerships. Has demand remained strong so far this year in terms of placing orders? Also - are any of the other dealerships seeing any positive movement in delivers from the plant now that KIA increased production?
