• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have been trying to purchase a Telluride Since August of 2109. I am a cash buyer with no trade in, which seems to be a problem for most dealerships in my area. The other problem that I am running into over and over again is the lifetime warranty or market demand adjustment fee which is 5-7K over MSRP.

So now that it is March 202 and I still sit here without a 2020 telluride, my husband and friends have advised me to wait for the 2021 models to arrive.

Any reliable information would be very much appreciated.

Thanks...

You asked this question last month on Feb 12, and got the same answer. No info yet on 2021. We also provided all the tools to find your desired vehicle and trim using the lookup tools, etc. You wanted an S trim, which should not be too hard to come by. Read the thread "Scored" for an example of how to use the tools and make them work. We have

VIN Lookup site (Telluride Lookup)

From that site, you can click on Stats to get the same information - and search cars by zip code.

Also there is a spreadsheet if you search "production stats"

If you want to keep waiting for 2021 model for some reason, then go right ahead. When there is info on that, it will be posted.

I have located several S trim Tellurides and I have tried to purchase, yet as I have stated...The dealerships are being total Mobsters when it comes to purchasing! I will pay MSRP plus delivery, tax, title, etc...

I will however, not pay The VIG or as the dealerships are calling it the market demand fee, or the lifetime warranty fee! I also WILL NOT finance! I have no trade in...Therefore they attempt the extortion game until I just give up and walk away. I am exhausted! I have NEVER had this much trouble trying to purchase a vehicle...

I just thought that maybe if I could wait for the 2021 models that maybe this dealership extortion game would subside and I could purchase then.

Thank you for you input!

Where are you located? And what trim and color combo are you looking for? No info from Kia on when 2021 will be released
I am located in Massachusetts. I would like to purchase Model S, FWD, Exterior color Black, White, Gravity Grey or Everlasting Silver,

Interior color, Gray Sofino. I also want the 8 passenger seating, but I am willing to take the 7 passenger just to end this nightmare.

Thank you for taking time to care about this.

Where are you located? Have you tried Kia of Muncie? They are reputable and ship vehicles. Pricing comes in at MSRP or below with Costco pricing?
I’m sorry to say but you’ll be hard pressed to find a reputable dealerships who isn’t price gauging. They are few and far between unfortunately. Hopefully with states looking into price gauging because of Coronavirus it will incorporate them all even if it doesn’t pertain to the virus. Deliberate inflation for personal gain hurts everyone, just look at Venezuela. Sorry went of topic but I’m sure you understand.

Thank you for this list; however, since I have owned a four wheel drive Nissan Titan for 12 years while living in Colorado and Massachusetts and I have only engaged my 4 wheel drive a handful of times while off road camping, I do not need or want AWD. This would be a waste of money and more unnecessary maintenance for me.

Much appreciated!

Try Brian at Garvey Kia in Queensberry, NY. I took a bus up from NY city and drove the 4 hours back. No issues. No games. Super easy to deal with. Straight MSRP. Found it via the vin lookup. Mine is a grey SXP but someone was picking up a Grey S the same day. If you call, tell him Gabe sent you.

Why not finance, get the $1000 incentive, and pay it off a few weeks once KIA assigns you an account? You get a payoff figure on day one of your account. Some dealerships may allow you to finance the minimum for the incentive too.

Heck, let the dealer think they're making something off you in the financing and you'll probably get the price close to MSRP, if not sticker price. GL

I took a look at the vin lookup tool and you are in a cold weather state and KIA allocates almost no cars meeting those specs to any cold weather states. I saw a couple of Ohio’s and NJ for the last 5 weeks. That’s it. It’s the FWD requirement in MA that’s makes it a difficult ask. You would have to custom order or fly in/drive out.

@tnichole is ordering not an option? I ordered from Herb Chambers in Burlington end of September. Delivered to me in early January. MSRP no extra markups.

OP had an order but cancelled it presumably to spite the dealership that didn't place the order until Dec 17, but original order was Sept 7.

Problem is that MA wasn't getting FWDs in the Fall, and with change to KFOS, a Dec 17 order in KFOS or January 17 in KFOS would be there by now.

But, @tnichole doesn't want to use tools to find a vehicle out of state and have it delivered - which is necessary because she wants FWD in Massachusetts. @tnichole already incorrectly equated AWD with a seldom used 4WD system in a Titan, so doesn't think needs AWD. Could get one of the AWDs with Finance rebate of $1k and then be only 1k over list of an FWD, but poster doesn't want to finance for rebate. Just wants to pay cash.

A dealer in MN just posted many options to choose from for S models - but had AWD.

Hard to help those who don't want to help themselves.

What @tnichole is saying is everyone she’s talked to about the car, is price gauging because she wants to pay in cash upfront. Basically inflating the price beyond what they stated or advertised to gain more money out of her that they won’t get through her not financing. It’s looks great typed out on the paper or on the website but when she gets to the dealerships and says she wants to pay with cash no financing all they see is dollar signs. The object of dealerships is to make a profit, some more than others. They make their money based on the deals they have with banks and people financing those cars using the teaser rates advertised to draw customers in. Rates such as 0.9 and 1.9 etc.... Yeah it looks fabulous and makes you feel like you got a real deal but it isn't true mathematically. Based on how they write the term, payment incentives and trade in value of your trade if there is one. The dealership made a financing profit on you that your not seeing. What the eye sees the mind believes until you start doing that math calculations. So, it’s not that @tnichole is being difficult or that she doesn’t want to help her self. It’s that she doesn’t want to be taken advantage. You can’t blame her for that...

As of yesterday we had a Gravity/Black EX with bench/AWD available. This would solve your issue.

This is why americans are have so much debt! I do will not finance! PERIOD! Every dealership is obsessed with making me finance because that is another way for them to make money. I get it, but I am not interested! I will not be bullied into financing! So if a dealership wants my business then they will have to do it my way or no way at all...

Thanks,
TNichole

No idea regarding the 2021 release date but I’d be surprised if there are many changes to the car considering its success and it’s only the 2nd year. I’d also be surprised if KIA didn’t bump up the MSRP as well. It was clearly underpriced for the market so I would expect an adjustment of some sort. And they already bumped the price in the middle of a model year, albeit only slightly. All speculation of course.
