Consider the Price Gouging Officially Over

Yup had I know I was gonna be out of a job the next few weeks I would have maybe leased again this payment is gonna be tough

If my local dealer, one I've done business with and where have my current 2019 Sorento serviced, called me today to tell me they have my exact Telluride in on the lot and under MSRP...I would thank them for the call and continue the wait. It may not be a time-wise decision but there is no way in hell that I would reward the past 7 months of research and waiting because of their shennanigans.

@Stacyg , did you finance with KMF?

If so, current KMF customers (Financed or Leased before March 14, 2020), who are providing care for themselves or a member of their household resulting from the current global crisis and are temporarily not able to work, they can request 30-day payment extensions up to three times.

You are welcome! My daughter is a cosmetologist in Phoenix. Does hair in one shop, nails in another. Both are loved temporarily. Tough times for the service industry. Best wishes

I won't touch Kia unless sales manager himself will deliver it to my house with $5k under msrp and 0% financing for 72months and some extra add-on for free like set of summer wheels. Even then, I'll still think about it. Might still pass and continue to drive my 5 year old Nissan. Tables have turned. Can't say I didn't warn it won't end good with such greed.

Good! That leaves at least one Telluride for someone who recognizes it's value. You won't see one sold for $5K under msrp during this or the next model year. Heck, the dealer can't even buy them for that price. You are not in touch with reality.

Kia of Garden Grove called me after ignoring my requests, stated any Telluride I'd want is MSRP and negotiable terms beyond that. I laughed and said sorry with the 10-12k markups that put it in Audi Q7 levels, which I ended up purchasing. You could hear the desperation in her voice.

I had called a ton of dealers back before I found mine in Feb. Basically all of them have begun calling me back over the past few days. I have to break it to them that I already found mine. However, deals are to be had if you want one now.

$900/Month!?! I hope with a payment that high you have a 36 or at worst 48 month note. Maybe you could refinance to something longer like a 60 month note. My house payment is only $961/month....I can't imagine a car payment nearly that high.

What’s the name of the sales person?

Yeah, as of two weeks ago. Not anymore. Six states now listed as shelter in place including the 5th largest economy in the world (Cali).

Not to judge but someone has to put it out for people, sorry but how many haircuts you have to do to make 900$? I mean these BAD financial decision is what’s messing people up, living beyond your means.

Why do you even post here anymore? You said well before this crisis that the Telluride wasn't worth buying due to what you thought was a lame powertrain and poor mpg. You wouldn't buy one even given the parameters you listed here.

I think he is simply pointing out that the tables have turned. Dealerships were taking advantage of supply and demand and now some consumers may be looking to do the same. It’s really no different than people posting here with confirmation and/or recency bias.

If you read his posts, they've been a litany of complaints about the Telluride with no indication he was actually trying to buy one.

Sorry, but this situation will make the Telluride even more scarce, thus less supply with equal demand as before. This situation will delay purchases, however when it passes pent-up-demand will prevail. While dealers will MAYBE peddle other things cheaper, it won’t include the Telluride widespread. Likewise, KIA USA will not incent the Telluride because supply still can’t keep up with demand. You clearly aren’t an economist.

“You clearly aren’t an economist.”

You obviously aren’t either. Your saying the spike in unemployment and 10 trillion dollar hit on the economy will have no impact on demand. Ok! LOL

Lol I got the top trim and only put down 2500 so 1.9 percent for 60 months. It is what it is not gonna find an interest rate lower than that . I came from leasing so nothing to trade. its high but that’s the cost of financing a 47000 dollar vehicle
