Since they are retooling will they skip
April allocations and allocate 2021 in May?

Or will 2020s continue into the summer?

My dealer told me KIA isn't accepting any more 2020 orders. If your order was accepted by KFOS in March it will be a 2020. Beginning in April - orders going into KFOS will be 2021. That said - I expect we will hear more about the 2021's soon.

Has this been officially confirmed by Kia? I don't need a vehicle yet but I probably should put in my order since I realistically wont get it til late fall or winter.

As far as I know no dealers here have even heard that the 2021 will be available. @MarcinTexas is the only person has been told this by their dealer. Take that for what it's worth.

My dealer! Best one out there. Now we are all waiting to see when KIA releases data on the 2021 and when we can place those orders.

Stephen any thoughts on what you might expect for changes between the 2020 and 2021 models? We all know you have that special crystal ball to gaze into ;)

Ordered my Telluride (SX, Prestige) 2 months ago...still no VIN allocated. Dealer advised it may end up being a 2021 model (at same price quoted for 2020 model). They really don't know yet.

Has your order been allocated in KFOS? I ordered in Feb but my order isn't going to be allocated until this month or I suppose depending on the allocations next month. I just need to make sure on the option choices as some will likely change along with higher pricing. Not sure how your dealer could give 2020 prices on a 2021 for you. I'd question that unless of course yours went into KFOS in March and will be one of the last 2020s.

Blackout package for SXP. Wolf Gray color replacing Gravity Gray and Glacial White Pearl replacing Snow White Pearl. Sangria color now available on SX trims. Black Copper available on S models and higher trim.

that’s all for now. Waiting on pricing information

Any update on the remote start function? And my wish list....any chance the full LCD will come to the prestige trim? Anxious to see what info is slowly leaking out.

Really curious to see what the Wolf Gray looks like. My original 2020 order was for a Gravity Grey. Hopefully KIA gets the information out soon.

For those out there wanting to get the latest news from KIA - that might not hit here immediately - the Korean Car Blog is a great resource. The H/K/G brands have a ton of new and exciting products coming. I have been checking both that site and here daily to see when 2021 Telluride data hits.

None of that yet.. I’m thinking we will get all that information with pricing at same time

Here's a question I'm confused about...During this current break from production, I understand that the factory is being retooled.

Assuming that statement to be true, wouldn't all models produced once the factory reopens be considered 2021 models? Regardless of when the order was put into the system, all next up for production models would be '21 models?

Or will more factory re-configuring need to take place later on to comply with the changes to the model year?

That’s a question for an employee who works at the factory. I’m sure they have “x” amount of parts left for the 2020’s which is why they still producing. Then it may infact need to change over additional equipment down the road for the 2021..

KIA operates a flexible manufacturing line in Georgia. The same line produces the Optima, Sorento and Telluride. I assume if they are adding new tooling for 2021's then it would be a fourth run capability down the same line. When the parts for 2020 are exhausted - then they stop using the 2020 run and use the newly installed 2021 equipment. Keep in mind - they also have an all new Optima and Sorento coming from the same plant. They are going to be busy for the 2021 model year.

Speaking of the 2021 model year - the all new Sedona looks very impressive. Between that, the all new Optima, Sorento and refreshed Cadenza - KIA is well positioned for a very interesting year for the auto industry. They will have the best and newest in their segments competing for what is shaping up to be limited consumer dollars this year. Hope it bodes well for the brand.

While my dealership has confirmed that KIA has already closed the books for 2020's...I am beginning to wonder if they will skip April allocations. We are a week out from the typical order window opening up and no pricing or details have been released on the 2021's. Factor that in and the obvious issue of a still huge backlog of 2020 orders that haven't been built yet. Beginning to wonder if KIA will skip April to try and finish the 2020 backlog and then open up the 2021 allocations in May.

@StephenCantrelle have you heard anything yet?
