• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Has anyone gone through the steps of replacing the turn signals in the rear number LX/S trim to LED and willing to share steps/photos? I am curious where to even start taking things apart.

I used 2 Canbus 1157 red LED’s. They are hard to reach. Look at where the bulbs are in reference to the bumper. On the passenger side you won’t have to remove anything. You will have to go under the car.... Make sure the car hasn’t been running.... You don’t want to get burned by the muffler. On the driver side you have to remove a panel that’s behinds the rear tire. I’ll send pics. Getting them back in is a little work... Be patient! It’s worth it!

Thank you. Pics would be fantastic, actually any information (as you have given) is great thus far.

A link to the bulbs you used for your transition would be ace as well. I can't recall which bulb I used for the fronts, which I replaced 4 months ago. Thanks!

On the drivers side there are plastic tabs.Pop them out from the top of the tab... Not at the base. Get under the vehicle and you will see 2 plastic screws. They should screw off . If not just pull the cover off. Now here’s where you have to have patience. Find the bulb.... Twist it out and replace the bulb. Check the new LED. Remember... Patience.... return the bulb and tighten. I have replaced all of the halogens and the LEDs really take this beautiful vehicle to another level. I hop this helps. Remember... Patience 🤣

Very nice! Thanks for the further details and pics! Do you recall the bulb you used (I know Canbus 1157), but specifically...or a link? Thanks for jumping through all the hoops here! (Rob)

Side note, I have replaced all my bulbs and upgraded to LED as well, except for the side front markers. I was able to 'get at' the side markers and replace them, but there was no visual difference from the standard to the LED in appearance, so I kept it factory standard.

I left the side markers factory. Here’s the brand I used.... Got em from eBay

Managed to change both! They were not easy to get at and a bit harder to reseat once I replaced the bulbs. The pictures you provided worked well. Access to the driver's side was a bit easier. Once that plastic panel was removed, you could see and access it, albeit with much knuckle scrapping. I feel for anyone who has a go at this if they have large hands. The passenger side was actually easier to get at from the far left of your picture. There is one small sweet spot that you can see and access that one. All in all, it took about an hour (no experience time), but the results are fantastic. Perhaps you have a bulb recommendation for the tailights? The main thing is that one of the bulbs (3 to a side) be a running/brake light and the others just running lights. Thanks again for your help on this one! (Rob)

I’m glad you were able to get the job done. These are the brake lights I have installed. They are working perfectly and look nice and bright.

Thanks for the reply and photos! Quick question though. Is that how they look all the time, in running mode? To me (or any other driver) this would look as if the brake lights are constantly on. I know that the the one brake light is on the lower end, but this appears to look like one solid brake light. Let me know! Best, Rob.

It is bright.... But the lower part gets brighter when the brakes are applied.

Yes they are bright.... But when the brakes are applied the lower part of the light gets brighter.
