• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... It is 9 months now I have my Telluride. on boxing day I turned on the car and the control engine light was on. in the book if you got this go to the dealer immediately without a phone call. I did. the dealer didn't find anything wrong with it, I had 7000 km on it, the mechanic siad there is nothing wrong and suggested to put premium Gas in it..they reset it(I assume) and the light is off. I took it home. since then I've been using premium gas. yet the engine sign light came up again. so I took it back and again they said nothing wrong.they didn't know what's going on.rest it.tool it home. next day the light is on again. I took it back again ,(3rd Time) reset it for me and of course nothing wrong. I have 11,000 on it now and the sign still on. I don't know what is wrong. yet u noticed something, if I leave the car one or two days off (because of corona no work) the sign comes back on. sometimes the sign goes of by itself.
anybody has any idea please? after my third or fourth visit(I lost counting) the owner of the dealership told me if the engine control sign is NOT blinking, only ON then there is nothing wrong! they never charged me yet I don't want to go every week to reset the thing. any body with same issue or mechanical thoughts please?

Wow, that would drive me nuts. My advice would be to take it to a different dealer. The owner of the dealership telling you a warning light doesn’t mean anything is a bad sign.

try charging your car battery if you think it has to do with leaving the car off for several days. i know that when I don’t drive my SXP regularly (COVID work from home), the ISG is not able to work because the battery doesn’t have enough power reserves. look into the battery tender brand if you need a suggestion. My 800mA outdoor model worked fine. Another member here uses a 3A model with no issues as well.

Perhaps this is the issue?

thank you for your reply. he told me if the ECS doesn't blink then it means nothing.

Just to be sure, you aren’t confusing ECS with ESC, electronic stability control, right? I can’t find any info about an ECS indicator light.

I would take it to another dealership. Those lights don’t come on if nothing is wrong.

Hello
yes it is ECS the engine control system. it has exactly 2 word in the manual and both say:if you see the warring light go to the dealer. because it can be anything.

bogie put up a service bulletin. I will take the pdf and show it to the dealer, along side the Leakey rear window nosel bulletin.

I would like to say thank you guys for the wonderful effort you are putting on this forum,
cheers

the mechanic said there is nothing wrong and suggested to put premium Gas in it...

This is BS - vehicle is designed to run on regular fuel. Premium is a waste of money unless the vehicle requires it.

Premium will not harm the engine - just provides no incremental benefits for the extra money.

update:
I took the service bulletin bogie put on here(thank you) to the dealer, he said" those bulletins are for the U.S., not Canada", the dealer didn't get them. I told him all Tellurides are made in the US and the problems are obvious. he was convinced yet I noticed he didn't want to spend money and he told me"I am going to e mail head office"
what do you suggest I do now?
should I send head office an e mail ? if yes how do I reach them?

cheers
