Telluride VIN Lookup Website

Hi all. On the telluride lookup website under the created tab. Is this the day the vehicle was produced or is it the day the Vin number was generated. Thanks all.

Vin number generated

How long usually from vin generation to production
That I’m not sure. Mine hasn’t generated yet! I‘m guessing 3 to 4 weeks!

I put together a website that scrapes all of the new VIN numbers daily and lets you search/filter them. I started on January 7th, so cars produced before that won't be on the site. I may try and scrape historical data but for now it's just going forward.

Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to try and add to the site or if you have any issues with it.

I want to especially thank MichelW for his help and inspiration based on his very useful spreadsheet.

Hello Jamie,

I appreciate you and MichelW putting together that website. I was able to get it to fully load once, but since then it just keeps saying: "Loading Please Wait" and it never does load. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance, Scott

Are you opening on your phone? I know it works on google chrome for sure.

I think it's just an issue with the amount of data it loads. I will put together another view of just the most recent VINs, like 1,000 or something (or maybe user picks). In the meantime, you can try the "mobile" page. It still loads all of the data, but does it in a different way that works better on mobile for some people. http://telluride-lookup.herokuapp.com/mobile

Why hasn’t there been any new vins? Is the plant still closed?

Just got done doing the full detail on it, but here you are!
Sweet! What details did u do?

Sweet! What details did u do?

Here's the list;
Full wash and iron-X spray (wasn't super bad but necessary for the paint correction step)
Clay bar touch up on a few spots (though again was more for the next step)
Some paint correction with a random orbital buffer on a few spots where there were a few swirls from them trying to correct imperfections at the factory i'm guessing, as well as a few minor scuffs and scratches from the shipping of the vehicle. (Chemical Guys V36 with orange hex logic pad.)
Then a fine Polish on the entire car including glass and headlights to prep for sealant. (Chemical guys V38 with hex logic white pad.)
Then a full IPA wipe down to get all of the leftover polish and oils off of the paint to help the sealant bond fully to bare paint (CarPro Eraser.)
Then buffed on a sealant (wolfgaang 3.0) That will cure for 12 hrs
Topped off with a Spray Sealant (P&S Bead Maker.) Cure time 8 Hrs.

I wouldnt expect my new car to be less than that. To come with minor scuffs, some scratches from shipping, and imperfections from factory that’s a lot!! Did it make a big difference? It’s a brand new car with new paint i didnt think i would need that to make it shinny like this!

Looks like my site was prohibited from scraping VINs. I'll see if I can change the amount of scraping it does and update the ip address but it doesn't look good. If anyone wants to try and host the site, the code is here and I can point you to the data.

For the most part the visible imperfections were really only in 3 areas and probably are so minor most people wouldn't have really noticed or taken care to them. the scuffs I was refering to were really only visible in direct sunlight and the one from the factory was where they buffed a small section about 3"x3" on the side of the hood and it left hologram swirls (again so minor most people wont even notice.) I am a bit OCD by nature so I'm more picky than most people when it comes to what I consider a clean vehicle, But I also have been doing car detailing as a hobby for about 10 years now and I am able to fix small things like that so it wasn't anything that i was to worried about. Plus the dark moss color shows every little spiderweb and light scratch from improper washing so you just have to be extra careful with it.

My main reason for buffing is to help the paint really get that extra POP and clarity. Plus it absolutely guarantees that I'm putting sealant on bare paint so it lasts

I wonder if just doing it a few times per week for example would work - once ip is updated - and then just focus on recent VINs - don't worry about history anymore. Because Michelw is still able to scrape automatically into the Google Sheet, but he's not doing it as frequently. Clearly they picked up on the scraping, and it might have affected their use of the API for their dealers. At least they may think that.

Yeah... I'll change it to much less frequently and see what happens.

I hope you or someone else can find a solution! Is there any other way to lookup vins? I read google sheets somewhere!
