However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Order to delivery time

I may beat you. I ordered mine the first week of November and still no VIN#! Everytime my ETA gets close, they extend again. Now I am looking at 6/30. Originally was promised late February.
Jesus! Although i would say if you got this eta this week it might be accurate since they’re up running with two shifts next week. Mine was May 1st, ordered Dec. last time I checked they said July 7th. Now I’m scared to even ask!

I envy y’all’s patience, lol, I don’t know if I can wait as long as you guys have! After @Michelw updated his spreadsheet again yesterday, it looks like they’ve been pumping out a good amount of Tellurides each day this week, so I’ll be super excited to see what next week looks like with 2 shifts running (although on the KMMG employee Facebook page, quite a few employees don’t understand how they have enough parts to be running 2 shifts, so we’ll see I guess).

Same here! Ordered mid November and its been pushed back 4 times already - current ETA is 6/29

they must really be trying to get the 2020s out ASAP before switching over to 2021s...I don't think much of any retooling will need to happen on the line but I definitely sense the push...

Yeah, hopefully they keep pumping them out! It sounds like there is another planned shutdown for the beginning of July (sounds like this Is a planned shutdown that happens yearly), so I don’t know how much that is effecting things either.

So I called my dealer and they said the vin was created and it changed from July 7th to 11th. They showed me the window sticker as i requested since i dont see it on the new vin website. They sent me it and here you go it’s the wrong one! Now they’re looking to find if they even placed an order for the right car!!! Seriously??? After 6months!!

Ohhhh man, I’d be furious!! That freaking sucks! How different is the one they thought was yours compared to what you really ordered?

This is all too common! Ghost orders. We are going to be seeing a bunch of pissed off people very shortly.

What’s a ghost order? Are they doing this on purpose?

GOOD GRIEF!???

Ok...I'll cut to the chase...I'm about to put my 2021 order with @StephenCantrelle or any other authorized dealers here like @Jason Fox

I trust my local guy to put it in correctly once ordering opens but can't risk them screwing it up...

Saying that they placed an order however they are waiting on the closest match to arrive. See it everyday. Or it shows up with wrong exterior color or interior color and dealer says it was a mistake from the factory. I've heard it all.

Just looked up the Vin... Vin is for a non Prestige White with Espresso interior.. I would call them to see if a manager who enters cars into KFOS is available to speak with.. they need to be able to look in KFOS(Kia’s internal ordering system) to see if your name is attached to a Snow White Pearl with Dune Brown interior SXP.

Sorry this is happening to you and as Jason Fox mention is sad to see when we see these take place.

the paper they gave you is just a print off from Kia.com it’s not an official order sheet as well.

They said give like an hour to check what’s going on. I’m calling them after that and snapping really bad if they didn’t place my order. That’s so frustrating

Were that supposed to give another paper? I have the order receipt that’s it

I have had nothing but good experiences with @StephenCantrelle and based on the experience of many other people on this forum - he has delivered time and again. I see other dealers doing these ghost orders - but I haven't seen that happen with Stephen. I finally about to get an allocation for a 2021 (been on the list since January) and am 100% confident that I will get the car I have ordered.

If you have the time to be patient, and are willing to travel or have it shipped, it's the best way to go. Yes you may wait a little longer than what the local guy is promising you - but there's a comfort level knowing that you'll never have to post about:

they didn't actually place my order
I can't get a response from my salesman
they ordered the wrong color/feature/etc
my car is here, but now they want $2,500 for add-ons, they told me take it or leave it
or any of the other horror stories that have been posted

I ordered with Jason, and would've been more than happy to have ordered with Stephen or Donovan (Huffines) in Texas, as well. No muss, no fuss - as they say. Actually, I would've probably been a little happier buying from the one of the North Dallas guys, and this is by no means a knock on Jason or anything with Kia of Muncie - they're great. When I ordered I had no idea that both Stephen and Donovan are at dealerships literally down the road from where my son is a student in the music school at UNT. So if I had ordered from one of them, I could've thrown in a visit with him as well when I went to pick it up

This is true. I ordered with @StephenCantrelle, just happened to be on this forum at the right time. I picked up an SXP and had it shipped from TX to NM. That process was very easy. Although I did pay a little over MSRP, it was much lower than my local dealer, allowing me to get into an SXP (from just an SX) for not much more.

Moral of the story. The above from @TheBigHouse is true and I would share with anyone the experience of buying and shipping (I was going to fly and drive but covid squashed that). You can trust these guys and, at the end of the day, the cost to ship was nominal and provided piece of mind to all the anxiety, angst and hubbub that comes with dealing with dealers that don't know what they are talking about.

At the risk of kissing up a little too much ;) - the other small part of this, YMMV depending on how you feel, but I felt good going with one of the guys who is putting in the extra effort to be out here on this forum informing/assisting/responding to potential buyers here. Sure, at the end of the day, they want to make sales, but these guys have 1000's of posts on this forum - many helping people who did not buy from them. Straight up, I would not have ordered a Telluride if it wasn't for @Jason Fox and his posts in general getting me to a point where I felt comfortable enough to reach out and place an order at a dealership 4-5 states away.
