• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hey fellow owners,

I just had the lovely experience of Kia calling me to tell me they need to replace my entire transmission on my Telluride I bought on 5.25.20. Luckily they said that only 3 VINs may have this problem. They said the problem can induce vibrations while driving due to something wrong with the transmission. They also said that for the inconvenience of having to replace the entire transmission, they said something along the lines of “we will offer you something to offset the inconvenience.”

Anyone else encounter this problem? (well, sounds like only 2 other people in the world)

Any ideas of what I should as for as a trade-off for this inconvenience?

Thanks in advance!

Proactive replacement. While inconvenient - got to give credit where credit is due.

Maybe ask for a free lifetime UVO subscription. ;) But seriously, it sucks that you just got it but awesome that they're being proactive and doing the right thing.

That really stinks. I’d be livid. How did this get by their quality checks? Moreover, how do they know there are three, and only three, VINs that are potentially affected. Sounds like a major failure on their part. I agree, demand a lifetime UVO subscription. I’d also ask for some sort of Kia corporate concierge - who knows what may get screwed up when they go to replace the transmission, and it’d be nice to have someone from the mothership to help avoid fighting with a dealer about whether it’s related. Heck, maybe ask for a replacement Telluride. Let them do something else with yours.
