In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. must have some inside info... nothing indicating that on my end... that would be a pleasant surprise

Will confirm tomorrow when my order is placed. The sales rep at the dealer has been very transparent and said she'll send me a copy of the paperwork once it's complete

All incoming units that I have officially have Vin numbers as of today.. Hopefully 2021's start being produced next week..
Will they begin building 2021 vehicles before they accept orders for 2021 vehicles? Seems like a strange way to do business with thousands of orders sitting at their Dealers.

Pricing needs to be released first before opening orders and keep in mind they have thousands of 2020 orders that just got converted to 2021's. Those people will be priority to build first

Hey Stephen - thanks for all the info. Has there been any clarity provided from Kia on if those existing 2020 orders will have to be reentered? Or will they automatically roll over to 2021 orders to be filled in KFOS?

Thank yoy Stephen. The Dealers will need to enter the converted orders into KFOS as they receive new allocations correct? I assume no 2021 vehicles are in KFOS currently?

The good news as we have watched production steadily ramp up - we know 2020 is finally coming to a close. Assuming all the converted 2020 to 2021 orders will be produced before folks like me get an allocation - then things look really good for KIA finally getting Telluride allocations back on line in KFOS in mid July - with no backlog. Now - let's see how well they can keep it up. @StephenCantrelle looking forward to an update soon as like you said - pricing needs to be released before orders can be placed for those that weren't rolled over.

Good question.. as of this moment no 2021's are in either Kdealer or KFOS systems.. We will see how Kia crosses over.
IMO I think Kia will automatically cross over the 2020 orders that were deleted and changed to 2021.

I don't think those orders will need to be re-entered... everyone else who was an order will need to be..

This again is what I believe will happen.. Not 100% positive at this point

Judgemental much? You know nothing about his life or his daughter. Zip it.
We are in the middle of a global pandemic, people are dying, and you are outraged your daughter cannot get her $50,000 luxury sled?

I’m really impressed with the useful and helpful information that people post here and how many people go out of their way (@StephenCantrelle @Jason Fox) to provide information to others. It’s really refreshing to see in a forum. Thank you all!

This has been said many times but there are a few things you need to consider:

- How could KIA sell so many $40-50K vehicles? Anyone that looked at KIA's prior success - and the price point they were successful at - would have agreed with KIA's management decision to not over produce a vehicle they had no prior history or success in selling. The Stinger and K900 were their prior attempts to break through the $40K plus market and were met with a tepid sales response - despite widespread critical acclaim. So if you are KIA - how many do you plan to sell in the first year? They planned for 40K in sales...then quickly ramped up to 80K last year. Then for the 2021 model year have made changes to produce up to 100K units.

Now - about the only thing I can fault KIA for is not managing expectations better and not working with dealers to better prepare to enter a higher priced segment. Most dealers were way under-prepared and many responded by taking advantage of the demand and adding huge market price adjustments....and treating prospective first time KIA buyers like crap when asking to test drive one or order an SXP model. Thankfully there are some good dealers on this forum that have done the brand well.

Both of these are epic fails on their part. I'd a thunk that they would see the massive shift to SUV sales in the past 10 years and the corresponding massive decline in sedan sales. Heck, even Ford gets it and has cut or will cut most of their sedan sales. I certainly hope they've embraced the lessons learned and will be able to produce on the scale you've mentioned without being 6-8 months behind all the time.

Hi I got my VIN about a month ago and the date keeps pushing out. Is there someone here who could check on this? I would grateful for any help.

VIN is 5XYP6DHC3LG091296

Thanks!

Guys,
we in Canada do not have such a system as yours to track the order,
the dealer representative must write a letter to Kia Canada each time and clarify the status.
Last specified last week, status - in production. This status is already the third week.
Please tell me from your experience of order tracking:
1 - how long to wait and when will it finally be produced?
2 - What are the next statuses?
Thanks in advance.

Finally, After 8 long months in the cold I was able to pick up my SX last night. Ordered Oct 22 several salesman and several shutdowns later, I am in business. On a funny note, the salesman said he had to hide my car in the service bay until 30 min before I arrived to keep everybody and their mom for trying to buy it. 2 people did try while I was signing the finance papers, and one old guy and his wife with a Q7 just knew they were going to walk in with a bag of money and drive away with a new Telluride. Sorry boss, 8 months "back off"
